Edited on Wed Feb-17-10 11:07 PM by FrenchieCat
She's 22 now, and a married graduate Student getting her PHD...and a professional dancer!

The time went by with the snap of a finger!
I only have one left at home and she's a terror (well kind of)!

6. Girls are always so different...
we have one who's 18 about to begin her own life, and another who is 13 who thinks it revolves around her. :banghead:

And then there are the boys who are by far the easiest to figure out.

8. Yep......Girls are a trip.
The eldest, a model child.
The little one, set from day one not to be like her sister....

Love them both, and wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.

My hubby has grandchildren from a prior marriage.....all boys.
I take them out on occasions to the movies and miniature golf and things...
but what I learned is that I need a good night sleep before dealing with them.
Boy are more physical work, from what I've experienced to date.

13. She's married?
That just happened recently, right? Or did I just totally miss that?

15. Two years in November!
I almost missed it too! They didn't tell us; they just did it!

He is the eldest of 3 boys. Working class Italian-Irish family!
He's 6'5" with the face of a Roman God. Their golden child who ended up at Harvard and played football there.

He graduated a couple of years before she did, and as soon as he did,
she practically moved in with him off-campus.
We weren't exactly overjoyed, cause we didn't send her to college to find a husband...
so we kept paying for room and board at school for an additional year, "just in case".

Those two came to visit that December right afterwards.
He was noticeably nervous.
She sat me and the Hubby down, and they told us the news.
They hadn't told anyone, cause it appears you don't need witnesses in MA,
where the deed was done.

The two families got together and had a great big "Celebration" reception that summer.
It was practically a wedding.

The MIL finally has the daughter that she never had,
and she got to go to the dance recitals that I couldn't go to :(
....so she was indoctrinated and got hooked!
They just love her.

19. Oh my gosh
Well you know, the up side to that, besides it working out well of course, is that your daughter absolutely knows her own mind. That's a pretty gutsy move.

It sounds like she has a joyous life though, doing the work she wanted, right? Can't ask for more than that.

20. Yes....she's gutsy alright. Her father would agree.....cause he's the difficult one, not me!
Edited on Thu Feb-18-10 02:46 AM by FrenchieCat
Yes she is studying what she wanted to, a study on Obesity in Children........right now!
I told her that she should write Michelle Obama a letter! She said she would,
since the stimulus is funding this particular study.....

(more boasting from me, since I'm on a roll! lol!) She's been published twice already (while she was an undergraduate), in The Harvard Brain, and Yale Review of Undergraduate Research in Psychology to date!

Her husband got his job due to the research stimulus money. Initially, his Department was going to lay folks off, and instead, he was hired when they first got there last summer!

So they have multiple reasons to support this President. :)

24. Well, I've got the other one to balance things out!
I shouldn't say that, cause she's got her own set of accomplishments,
but I think she took a silent vow at an early age to be the opposite of big sis!
Let's just say, that one is a late bloomer! lol!

9. I love to watch her dance!
But I can't cause we aren't in the same state any longer!
I was a frustrated dancer who stopped dancing in college....
and I wished I hadn't stopped....so I have encouraged here,
and it has paid off. I don't know where she finds the time,
but one thing I have to say about that one; she knows time management....
A real little Obama, that one! :)

10. Well, as you can tell, I'm one of those proud Moms.....
I've posted both of my baby's pics here off and on. I try only to posts baby pics,
or pics where you can't really see their faces (as they look know)....
cause it is the Internet, after all.

I mentioned to my Ju-Ju that I was using her pic as my sig, cause I felt I should get clearance
from her first. She said.....Mom, it's ok...I trust your judgment! Glad she said that,
since I asked her after the fact!

16. Thanks.....
She's a thoughtful sweetheart too...
and very politically aware.

She went to see Ted Kennedy, Barack Obama, John Kerry
in Boston during the primaries when Ted endorsed Barack.

She's like her Mama there....
Don't say nothing nasty about the President around her....
cause she will take somebody down!

27. HEY FRENCHIE!
Got any tips on getting my munchkin(s) into Harvard?? She's only 3 now (and the other one won't be born for another month) but I figured I'd better start planning now! :) We've already started a little college fund for the 3 year old and will start one for my newest poppet probably this year.

I was accepted into grad school at Columbia but didn't go. Wound up somewhere else every bit as high falutin' and expensive, though...

Thanks for any advice! :loveya:
