Obama weighs hoops match with Sen. Brown
Springfield, Mass., mayor says event could benefit charities in the city

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Could President Barack Obama use the basketball court to avenge a Democrat's loss in a key Senate race?

A spokesman for new Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown says he's game for a matchup offered by the mayor of basketball's birthplace. An Obama spokesman says the invitation is being studied.

Springfield Mayor Dominic Sarno said in a letter Wednesday to the White House that the event could benefit charities in the city.

Barely a week after his stunning political win, Brown boasted on "The Jay Leno Show" that he can beat Obama — at basketball. He challenged the president, an avid basketball fan, to a two-on-two showdown and said he'd team up with his daughter Ayla, who plays guard for Boston College.

3. Is that the ever present SS that we always see in the crowds behind
the President? The one on the left, that is.
