The NAACP Image Awards Show was fantastic!
I am still on cloud nine about my thrilling experience at the NAACP Image Awards Show and Events.

I don't know where to begin because for two days I was privileged to be right there watching history unfold ~ thiscloseup.

Let's start with Van Jones ~ you must click this link and read his full remarks at the Awards Show when he was given the " NAACP President's Award."

When you click into his remarks at the Awards Ceremony, I believe you will love his glowing remarks about Our President.

When you click in, remember to read the remarks from the National President of the NAACP, Benjamin Todd Jealous.

Our family is so proud of BTJ ~

11. The sky is the limit for him!
At the Image Awards ~ he held the audience in the palm of his hands from the moment that he took the stage.

He is confident and passionate about what he believes.

I will do anything I can to support his efforts.

4. Thanks Cha ~ Van Jones was extra special at the awards!
The entire evening was a "Must See" on Video

Sandra Bullock ~ what a classy lady - I thought she should have won for her work in Blind Side, the audience would have been pleased too.

But, another show stopper happened when Monique and "Precious" won as well as Lee Daniels (he was a knockout in the eyes of Ms goclark- :bounce: and his remarks were fantastic!

5. It's so awesome that we have a friend in
the BOG who was there.

Yeah, I like Sandra Bullock..she seems like a genuinely nice person..not to mention..very talented.

Had to look up, Lee Daniels.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Daniels .. a pic!

I don't know much about Precious except Monique was nominated for an Academy Award and there was a pic of her in character in the mag. Seems she played a not so nice mother.

Looking at the list of others who won awards..I have to say.. Hill Harper and Delroy Lindo are two of my favorites..just something about them on screen.

Was Al Gore there?:bounce:

12. Forgot to tell you Al Gore was not there

I love Al Gore and that would have been awesome to have him come up on stage.

There were so many celebrities there I felt like I was at the Oscar's.

7. That is fantastic, I'm so happy for him
And for you, what a thrill to be there when this honorable gentleman received this award. I had read about his environmental work but either didn't connect, or forgot, his work with Color of Change. I love that organization. I'm not a member of anything right now, no money. But I get their emails and am always impressed with the choice of needs they address and the sincerity of the desire for to make change. Some groups I feel like they're just exploiting issues to raise money to pay a lobbyist, which ultimately does nothing but create havoc in Congress. Color of Change is definitely not one of those. I am just extra pleased for Van Jones now that I know he is a co-founder of that group as well.

And his description of the President is perfect.

8. Oh yes , it was a thrill and even more than that it caused me to
go to his website which directed me to this interview with Tavis Smiley.

I believe this was done the day of the Image Awards.

Make sure that you are able to devote 24 spell binding minutes and truly understand why Van Jones is my new hero.

Thank you Ben Jealous, National President of the NAACP, for selecting him for this high honor. :patriot:

by his message, his strength and his style.

He is smart like Al Gore on this issue.

And when he praised President Obama to the rooftops people were standing up and shouting ,YES! YES!YES!

15. It really was
The praise of President Obama with the Titanic analogy spoke volumes. :) And Gore got this award last year. How cool to have this award back to back on this issue.

And you got to attend? If so, glad you had a blast.
