If Obama were smart...

he would have run for Congress, got himself a nice back bench seat, and spent his time voting against Democratic bills because they are "not good enough" and making joke runs for president. He would get nothing done, but all the progressives would say "I wish he would be president, but he can't because the corporations would never let him." They wouldn't care that he basically accomplishes nothing for the progressive cause.

And if he were smart, he would have gotten his own show on MSNBC where he would spend his time railing against Democrats and dispiriting the base (and make big bucks doing it). Everything would be so easy if the Democrats just had "spine". He would tell everyone the easy answers. And when asked to put his money where his mouth is by running for office, he would say "nah, I'm doing so much good with my television show" even though the opposite would be true.

Instead, Obama wasn't so smart. He took responsibility for getting stuff done, with no friends or allies it seems. He wanted to make a difference rather than make himself look good. Maybe taking this path wasn't as smart for him personally, but it showed that he cared much more than if he had taken the other paths.

cared enough to run for President and win. There are some very passionate leaders who are there to help him accomplish what the opposition is attempting to render impossible..but, there are also obstructionists who should be helping but their egos are bigger than their brains.

So instead of using vision and logic their energy goes into attentionwhoring.
