I wish there was a signal that went off somewhere in my head that said: STOP! YOU'RE ENTERING THE BULLSHIT ZONE! PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
I wish I had never ventured into GD today. :banghead:

1. It just takes
a few more lessons and then one learns how to navigate and stay away from the crazy.

Been there done that without getting banned so far..and it wouldn't really be worth getting banned over being too emotional just bc someone is lying their damn head off about the President and his Team/Dems in general.` So I put them on ignore.

Like EarlG said in his OP.."I can state with certainty that we have not solved the problem of incivility - and we never will - but the plain fact is that alerts are now being dealt with at a much faster pace, and we have eliminated a flaw in our system which sometimes allowed alerts to "fall through the cracks." After some time working with the new system, the moderators and administrators agree that it is a vast improvement over the old way of doing things."

2. what gets me is
how many times you can point out something positive and get:but, but, but, but...etc.

It's no wonder we are so backwards in "moving forward" in this country. Why do people continue to be stuck on stupid? :banghead:

3. Negative Nellies..the world is full of them..
and for whatever reason..DU has more than its share.

A lot of it willful negativism bc ..can't have this Pres winning at anything at any cost.

Whatever..they're not out doing anything..they're here attempting to bring down the Pres on a Democratic board.

4. One thing is, there seem to a swarm of the genuine "far left" here --
-- who seem to have mistaken the election of Obama for their cue to get their revolution on and convert the U.S. to either a socialist or communist society, with him as Dear Leader, and every time he does something that doesn't conform to that vision (every day), here come the nasties. They must have believed the GOP's hype about Obama/Biden being Marxists/Socialists, I dunno.

But from what I've seen of the "far left" here, it's a movement that's just as mean-spirited and yes, willfully ignorant as anything on the far right, and is not something to which I want to be "converted". The most astonishing thing the two seem to have in common is an absolute disregard for real people in favor of the workings of whatever the ideology is, and a hellbent fervor to cut their own noses off to spite their faces.

Not everyone I've had heated debates with is someone I consider "far left." But more often than not, when the words, "oppressor," "marched in lockstep," "corporatist," "egalitarian," "loyalty to party," etc., pop up, I know what I'm in for.

5. You are a brave warrior

I can't take it ~ I would have something grey with grass around it if I posted there.

They know that and that's why they are successful.

6. Thanks for that, but - eh!
I figure if I could wear the uniform (former USAF), I can certainly duke it out over the interwebs to show support for my favorite president!
