Now a few will go nuts and say 'Chavez' but if you can get them to agree that in the world stage he ranks heads and shoulders above every other elected president then maybe its their expectations that are amiss.

7. I think he's doing some pretty great things

There are things here and there I wish were different, but he can't change the mentality of half the country all by himself. It isn't "bipartisanship" to consider how those people think. It's remembering that at least 12 of our Senators come from states where the majority are not even populist Democrats, let alone liberals.

The irony is that McCain is attempting to do what he and the rest of the GOP have been yelping Democrats are trying to to -- he's attempting to put a government agency in between people and their health options. The stunning hypocrisy and just flat-out deceptiveness of the Republicans never fails to amaze me. Never. Not even after all these years.
