Stop the hate.
The terrorist have started a new hate spree. Free speech is one thing but slurs, spitting and now shattering windows is another. Frustrating because I'm sure trying to censure them will give them more fuel.

Got this in the mail yesterday and hope you fill it out.

http://colorofchange.org/hate/?id=1800-947178

If you have any ideas of what can be done to voice an opinion or do anything about this, please let me know. I'm going to enjoy barraging Darrel Issa's office with calls and letters like this.

Thanks.

This is what I said to Mike Steele,

Hope he reads it first thing this morning ~

I once had respect for the Republican Party but now I have none!
The silence of your party when Hate filled incidents are taking place all over this Land - name calling, spitting on, threats to the CHILDREN of Democrats is outrageous!

I am African American and I can honestly say that for you to turn your back when all this is happening speaks volumes about the reason that they placed you in that position! They knew that they could use YOU and make America think that the party was " liberal."

They don't respect you and the Black Community doesn't respect you either.

Speak out for JUSTICE or leave your job so they can put Sarah Palin or the Teabagger wife of your "Brother" Clarence in it!

I am ashamed of you!

Maryland/DC area almost 14years ago, Sheesh, I thought everyone in California was a Democrat  I mean so GOP that I had my Obama/Biden sticker ripped right off my car bumper last year. But you'd see huge, gigantic lawn banners all over the place with McCain/Palin. I mean I even saw several with Palin/McCain! And some had them still on their lawns months after the election :eyes:

Issa, Lebanese-American should be ashamed of himself. I guess it seems like 2 different American dreams are at work here in a lot of recent immigrant families.

My thinking is that they tried to make everyone think they were more "tolerant" because America has a Black President.

16. In canvassing for his opponent last time around I came to a door
and had the brochure in my hand and he was looking at the back of the brochure that has a somewhat unflaterring picture of Bilbray on it.

He said, "Is that Bilbray? I used to buy grass from that guy when he was a lifeguard at Imperial Beach." It was spontaneous and the guy kind of went white wondering if I was a policeman or something and I just laughed.

Bilbray's bio confirmed that he was a lifeguard.

He also never went to college.

He also has never lived in this district, he almost never leaves the DC area.

19. Busby was recorded at a meeting with hispanics and other supporters

Somebody asked if illegals could vote and she responded with "you don't need papers to vote" giving the impression that she was encouraging illegals to vote.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/06/16/opinion/main1722921.shtml

If anyone other than political junkies cared about the race for Duke Cunningham's old congressional seat in California's 50th District, Democratic candidate Francine Busby's "you don't need papers for voting" blunder would rank with Gerald Ford insisting Poland wasn't communist, Michael Dukakis joy-riding in a tank, and John Kerry reporting for duty.

Alas, Busby's gaffe is unlikely to enter the annals of Greatest American Political Blunders. Most of the nation's citizenry let the special election for Cunningham's seat come and go without ever allowing it to invade their conscious thoughts. But America does have a small class of political obsessives, and the invention of blogging has given them a public platform. For the left-wing blogosphere, the quest for Cunningham's seat was a months-long passion and their writings surrounding the race provide a nice snapshot of where this virtual community stands today.

26. I wouldn't be surprised if that Busby fundraiser fiasco
of last summer was not politically motivated. I see the 60year old woman arrested, along with 2 other older women, in the raid in the upscale neighborhood have filed a suit. No one else it seems thought the fundraiser was loud and other witnesses say the only disturbance was a resident heckler shouting at the top of his lungs - he called the police.

Even though she wasn't among those arrested, I wish Busby could get a break sometimes and clear her name.

Thank you for doing this Color For Change!

I'm outraged too but not surprised...this is a direct result from hateradio and the hatemongers like beck, palin, and limbaugh. The bigoted racist, spitter types and brick throwing people don't seem to be able to think for themselves.

The inciting of hate through lies needs to be stopped Now..they better not be calling themselves "Christians".

Thank you Kind of Blue..this is an excellent way to actually do something about this ignorance.

April 19 is coming up, as Rachel reminded us on her show last night. If this hate keeps smoldering that date is just too darn convenient for some nut job deciding to go out as a "hero" to the cause. I will never forget seeing the firemen bring babies out of the OK City Federal Bldg on tv, I still have the image of the fireman holding the dead little girl blazed into my mind and it gives me chills today. We forget that until 911 that was the worst act of terrorism in the US, and the lily-white, boy-next-door-looking perpetrator would be right out there screaming with today's tea party if he hadn't met his end as payment for his crimes. What are the tea partiers anyway but another name for the militia movement? And that movement went CRAZY under the last Democratic administration, so we can't be surprised to see a repeat.

this is not treated like terrorism. I just wonder if this party was a bunch of people of color, if the media, politicians and law enforcement would at the very least make a bigger show of acknowledging how unacceptable this is.

32. They sure would!
Everything these people do ends up being called an "isolated incident", but how many isolated incidents does it take to form a pattern when it's with people of the same mindset listening to the same provocateurs? I am certain if these people were of color or, heaven forbid, practiced a non-Christian religion, they would already be public enemy #1 in the media.

I will be gritting my teeth on 4/19 (weird coincidence, that's also my wedding anniversary :yoiks: )

21. Got this from Tim Kaine today..

Cha --

We need to act.

On Sunday night, many Congressional Democrats in tough districts cast courageous votes for health reform -- even though they knew that insurance companies and their Republican allies would retaliate immediately.

Well, the attacks are here. Shameful, negative ads have already hit the airwaves. Democratic offices have been vandalized. Republicans are promising to repeal reform and smearing those who supported it.

But we're ready to do what it takes to defend the heroes who made health reform possible.

These are the men and women who stood with us and the President to make good on a promise that our Party has fought to deliver for a century. And we will not leave them hanging out to dry.

Please chip in $5 or more to defend those in Congress who fought to make health reform possible?

These are the people who worked hand in hand with President Obama and grassroots Democrats to finally bring affordable coverage to 32 million more Americans, enact the toughest insurance regulations in history, and bring down costs for families, small businesses, and our government.

At a time of historic achievement for our country, Republicans and the extreme right wing are responding by pushing fear and intimidation.

They've launched a campaign to "fire" Nancy Pelosi, complete with imagery of the first female Speaker of the House surrounded by flames. Congresswoman Louise Slaughter had a brick thrown through her office window. A Virginia blog posted Congressman Tom Perriello's home address, urging tea partiers to "drop by."

The Democratic National Committee is already fighting back hard, with a sophisticated ad strategy, events on the ground, and the best rapid-response program in the history of politics. But we need your help to keep it up.

Please chip in $5 or more:

http://my.democrats.org/Heroes

If we learned one thing from the fight for health reform, it's this: Hope can triumph over fear, the truth can beat out the most vicious of lies, and our movement, organized, can overcome even the most powerful of opponents. Let's not stop now.

Thanks,

Governor Tim Kaine
Chairman

I think it's sweet how $5.00 would be welcome and I'm going to do it to show my support..if every Dem did who thought the extremists' attacks were not acceptable then they'd have quite a bit to get their positive ads out.

Give Color For Change a donation too.
