The nuclear security summit unveils the Pro Active President |
|
In the past the President has been kept busy by simply reacting to the short term crises and the medium term policy points. The Nuclear Security Summit this week reveals that President Obama may be the most quintessential proactive President in the history of the Republic.
Yes he will put out immediate fires like calming down the markets and getting the economy back to a functioning normalcy.
Yes he will continue to work on the medium term issues building the international consensus needed to solve the problems caused by Iran and North Korea.
But he also works on critical long term issues like unsecured nuclear material, an issue that he has been personally involved in since he was a freshman Senator.
Engaged in the immediate, medium and long term all at the same time he is a much more pro active President than his predecessors. Up until now Presidents have been consumed by simply reacting to everything that is going around them and in the case of GWBush and the warnings by the CIA about Al Queda and NOAA about Katrina not even doing that.
The President will be a very very difficult act to follow.

1. Well, I'm one happy citizen that we are |
|
being led by this President~
It cracks me up that we have complainers all around stating from, "He's the most anti-American President we've ever had"..to "he's a republicon boot licker"..and all the while President Obama goes about his job with a fierce determination and focus with humor and intelligence.
So glad I'm able to appreciate this and I feel bad for those who aren't able to grasp the history being made right before their very eyes.
Thanks grant for this little refresher course.
