The DU Barack Obama Group is a Critical DU Asset, IMHO.

It's no secret that there are times that supporters of the president find it hard to read posts and replies that seem unreasonable, angry, etc.

That will always, always, be the case on this board.

That comes with the territory.

It doesn't, however, and never will, change the fact that a significant majority of democrats and, indeed, of Americans support our president.

Let's keep it together everyone.

Let's share the good news by posting quality articles here for others to read.

Let's show our support for others' ideas, let's engage the positive and ignore the negative.

Let's be sure to adhere to the rules.

Barack Obama is our Democratic President, and this is the Democratic Underground.

We should not forget that in 90% of the time we agree with other DUers on a wide range of policy.

Single Payer is an example.

We all want it. Some think that you can throw a switch. Supporters of Obama tend to think that it has to be done in steps.

I disagree with a lot of DUers about Afghanistan.

I would be very concerned if I was part of a Democratic group where no one in the group wasn't questioning the wisdom of continuing our presence in Afghanistan.

Its just like a family - we don't always agree but we are on the same side.

14. You're absolutely right SKP, and I say that as a frequent offender.

I think my admiration for the president sometimes causes me to lash out in an angry manner. If I visited this group more often, it might have made me temper some of the responses I've made lately.

Thanks for the reminder SKP. Perhaps I should renew a pledge I made in the heat of the primary wars here at DU, "LET IT SINK". Since I can't do anything about the behavior of others, my only choice is to modify my own. Thanks again.
