1. All very fascinating..however this is the story I'm focusing on right now..
Thanks q.american~

<snip>

"Warner Robins Little League Softball All-Stars celebrated their world championship Tuesday at the White House.

The 2009 Little League World Champions met President Barack Obama at the nation's capital. The girls also spent time touring Washington.

The girls met the president around 3 p.m. in the East Room of the White House.

According to parent and coach Patti Carriker, several months of planning went into organizing the girls' trip .

The Warner Robins Softball All-Stars initially came into national spotlight when they won the Little League World Series championship back in August of last year. They defeated Texas 13-2 in Portland, Oregon.

The Softball All-Stars are the second Warner Robins Little League team to visit the White House in recent years. After winning the Boys' Little League World Series, the Warner Robins Little League Baseball All-Stars also visited the White House."

2. Enjoyed your link supplementing the Little League story.
Is that team beaming in those photos, or what?

(And, hmn - the last line of the story at your link is a bit of a doozy in its own way.)

6. OT..I was telling a customer at work
today that I saw the Paul McCartney Gershwin Award Ceremony at the White House and he hadn't heard about it..I described a bit of it but he had to get back to the castle.. however was very interested to know he could see it at PBS online now.

I've talked to him for years about Obama..he wants nothing but success for him and us, hates the corporatemedia VS America..he's an owner-chef of a local successful landmark "castle".

He took his wife to NYC, 4th of July weekend, for their Tenth wedding anniversary(stayed at the Plaza) and right before they were ready to leave they saw Ringo was scheduled to have his 70th Birthday Party Celebration at Madison Sq Garden..they tried to get tickets at the last minute but no go. He opened up his Rolling Stone recently and there was Ringo with Paul, and a couple of other Rock Legends at Madison Square.. wishing him a Happy Birthday! :toast:B-)

8. Ringo looks good! Just like a
more mature elder statesman Ringo..and he's all about Peace & Love~

"Starr is a wisp of a man yet far from a relic. The longtime vegetarian looks to be in his late 50s, dresses sharp (in all-black on a recent Sunday morning, save for the pink-orange trim of his sneakers) and still doles out quips that are only slightly less cheeky than the classics from John Lennon, who would have followed him to 70 this October."

Looks like it was Radio City Music Hall instead of Madison Sq Garden for the Party:party:

3. What a lot of work
And a lot of traveling.

Liked the little dais they set up in the sub shop! Presidential seal and everything.

I've never seen so many people get to the WH before - astronauts, softball players.
