Hmmmm.....
Perhaps I'm imagining things, but it seems that, since the primaries this last week, the automatic unrecs have dropped off. Anyone else notice that?

1. Hmm. I don't know, but I'll check it out now that you've mentioned it.
I'm afraid to even mention the primaries "out there." Heaven forbid we mention a candidate that Obama backed. We'll get swarmed.

2. Congratulations, to Senator
Michael Bennett..

<snip>

"I'm asking you on my behalf to join me in supporting Michael Bennett so that we can win this race in November," Romanoff told the crowd.

At a rally with supporters Tuesday night, Bennet took a moment to enjoy his victory.

"To the pundits and the talking heads, I have a simple message," he announced. "Welcome to Colorado."

He then took the first step toward a future partnership with his opponent.

"I look forward to working with him," Bennet says of Romanoff, "to build on the progress we have made."

Both candidates voiced the need to move forward on a united front.

"The issues that have divided us in this campaign are so much smaller than the hopes and values we share," Bennet says.

"This is no time at all for us to be quiet or go home and lick our wounds," Romanoff says. "It is a time for us to heal. It is a time for us to be united."

Bennet will take on Republican candidate Ken Buck in November's election.

3. Cha, thank you so much for posting that!!!! It was a great moment.
Romanoff got terrible advice during his campaign but definitely showed a lot of dignity when all was said and done. He promised to work with Michael Bennet and I'm hoping he will be at our town hall. Which reminds me, I have to RSVP this evening.

6. Here's another article on "Making Up"..
Edited on Fri Aug-13-10 07:29 PM by Cha
<snip>

"Former state House Speaker Andrew Romanoff joined Sen. Michael Bennet in a downtown unity rally Thursday and urged his supporters to put their grievances aside and line up behind his victorious rival's campaign against Republican nominee Ken Buck.

"It is an easy call for me, it should be an easy call for all of you as well," Romanoff said on the steps of the state capitol before hundreds of cheering Democrats. "I am proud to stand with Sen. Bennet."

Romanoff, who lost to Bennet by 8 percentage points after a vicious closing month to their primary campaign in which he questioned his opponent's ties to corporations and his financial judgment, walked down the steps with Bennet and his three daughters and introduced the newly minted nominee as "the next senator from Colorado."

Bennet heaped even more profuse praise on Romanoff, noting that his record as a Colorado Democrat "inspired thousands."

"To those who supported and volunteered for Andrew, I hope to earn your support in this race," he said."

7. Did you know that Obama did a call with Bennet to voters and they could ask both of
them questions? And George Lopez did one with Bennet, too. That gives a lot of confidence that the campaign up to November will be run very well. They are very serious about this election.

4. Who cares?
Do you really care about the rec/unrec system on a message board? :shrug: Aren't there more important things to worry about?
