Along with Thanksgiving, this is just on of my favorite holidays.. I love its history.. though like all Holidays it tends to morph into something else over time.. Now its the official end of summer.. But for those of us in the trenches it still has meaning beyond school is back in session.

PS... We will be gathering with our fellow union members tomorrow for a picnic..this is the one time, along with the Christmas party, that we actually get more out.. or a bigger portion than usual..

I was raised in a union workers home. My dad was teamsters and then sheet metal workers. He taught me the importance of working together to achieve the goals for all.
