-- who today voted with Democrats to rescue the Small Business bill from Republican hostage-taking.
George Voinovich: "In an interview, Voinovich said he could no longer support efforts by Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky to delay the measure in hopes of winning the right to offer additional GOP amendments. Most of the proposed amendments 'didn’t have anything to do with the bill,' anyway, Voinovich said, and amounted merely to partisan 'messaging.' 'We don’t have time for messaging. We don’t have time anymore. This country is really hurting,' Voinovich said."

It’s going to be very good for my state. We have got almost two million small businesses. They are struggling. I visited businesses over August, and they can’t get financing.”

Finally, don't forget that the $30 Billion for this program comes from the TARP money that was paid back (early, I might mention!) by the banks:
Pres. Obama: "This proposal takes the money that was repaid by Wall Street banks to provide capital for community banks on Main Street. Together with our proposal to cut taxes for small businesses to spur hiring and increase wages, we are making the critical investments we need for our economic recovery."
