Is anybody from an area where they are doing "coordinated campaigns"?

I met someone who does some of the back-end IT work for Democratic campaigns, and he introduced me to the concept of a "coordinated campaign". Basically it's about putting a big ticket on the campaign materials with several candidates to encourage people to vote straight-ticket. I noticed Obama made an apopearance on some of the Giannoulias materials. This is probably common sense in Chicago where I am, where the Democratic Party is so strong; I'm wondering if other areas are doing this.

1. They did this in MN during the 2008 campaign

One of the reasons Franken was able to pull through. All our campaign materials the week before election carried pictures of Obama/Franken i.e. you couldn't get a picture of Obama on a handout without getting a picture and info on Franken. In fact at that point we were mainly campaigning for Al. There was never any question but that the Pres would carry MN.
