Okay, I just heated the stray-cat-in-the-back-garden's Snugglesafe

After the stupendously lovely NYC_SKP told me today that the Barack Obama Group was active again I kind of view it as my brand new DU Snugglesafe :-) A warm and cosy shelter from the maddening storm!

It strikes me as kind of sad and bizarre that DUers who support a Democrat President - or, at the very least, wish him well - need an occasional refuge on DU, but they do. Good grief, are we now a marginalised fringe group on DU?!

But there was so much hostility towards him here, even before he was inaugurated, I'm not too surprised by how things have panned out. The way some of his setbacks are celebrated...well, it makes me assume that the worst nightmare of some is that he will prove to be a damn good President. It's bewildering.

Any way, it's utterly lovely to bump in to those with some hope in their hearts in this forum, there's no need to take a permanent break from DU after all!

Hell no, he's not perfect, but I still believe he's trying hard to do the right things - so, I remain a proud supporter.

I think it has gotten quite insane in GD and GDP where Obama is concerned, so I don't spend much time there anymore (not good for my blood pressure to read too many threads, or even thread titles there).

scene. Like you said, life's too short and people acted so hateful towards your threads it was ridiculous.

that's me. But here I am to say that I am so happy to find you Jackeen and your pictures. I have missed you.

Talk about Barack not being perfect. I think I warned everyone about that. He's cool, he's calm but he is not perfect. I didn't know him that well but I saw that back almost six years ago. As I am not perfect, and I don't think anyone else is, I accepted that he didn't have to be perfect either.

Now I never met Michelle so she might be the exception to the rule. ;)

Edited to add: the photos of Bo in the snow is so cute. Reminds me of my dogs first time seeing the white stuff. LOL

I still have the uncut version of the picture on an external hard drive. I was at my biggest at that time and next to tall, thin and dark Obama I really look like a white blob so when I first saw the picture there was no question about cutting me out.

My sister keeps telling me I need to print the original out as a souvenir but it is up to my daughter to do since I have no knowledge of the external hard drive and not allowed to touch it if I did.
