Does this make any sense?
I would love to have a single payer health care system. However, if you can't even get a decent reform bill passed, how in the world would anyone think single payer has a snow balls chance in hell of passing anytime soon? I hear this stuff about Obama not leading, but there is this pesky little system we have that requires that a bill pass the house and senate before it gets to his desk.

We don't have 60 votes for the current bill!

There is no way 60 votes will be cast for single payer.

Why bother? Am I missing something?

1. The only think you are missing is irrational hatred for Obama.
I know what you're saying. I just read this thread in GDP and lord almighty, but the vitriol.......

The OP was talking about what the legislative process is. That stuff is fact. But you'd never know it by the responses.

2. They have taken over the board.
Since when did the president write the bill and pass it himself?

Every post is swarmed.

3. I can't figure it out either. It's hard for me to image that people
hate as a hobby.

4. That's exactly what it seems like
And they talk like freepers - Prez is a one term Pres, this is a failure, etc. They sound like the freeper accusation of what we are: big babies who expect the government to take care of us.

That's what makes me very suspicious. If the progresssives though it such crap it shouldn't be voted for and the Dem party abandoned, then Sanders would refuse to vote for it. He is in a position to do that too. Or Feingold or other progressive Senators.

Can't believe that first post calling RBMaine's merely factual post "crap."

The mods here are letting us down.

5. That's what Harkin said on Rachael last night.
He compared it to building a house: you want to put up a mansion but only have enough for a modest house. You build the modest sized house and then later when you have more money you put on a couple of extra rooms. That's what they will do with this bill: they will get something passed and then amend it when people start liking it and wanting more.

6. But don't you know that Harkin is
a dirty sellout and scumbag? Only such a person could make such a statement.
