Absolute last op before the Holidays.. PROMISE..

I signed out for the Holidays yesterday, and took all political sites out of my bookmarks so I would not be tempted... This is a time for friends and family first..

But you know what, I have friends here too.. and I needed to let you know what is happening in the heartland.

I live on the Western border of Iowa and South Dakota and Nebraska.. and anyhow, this time of year I am tuned in exclusively to music, Christmas music, all talk stations off my list..

Listening to KELO 92.5.. all Christmas music when on comes a commerical for some odd group physicians concerned for patients rights or something like that.. did not catch the entire name.. But here is the rub

They are broadcasting that the HRC act will have the government getting between you and your doctor in making medical decisions.. Now you and I know this is a front group for the teabaggers.. but just think about your average person who is not as clicked into politics listening to something like this on a music station,., Now you know why people are no longer supporting HRC like they were before.. Folks we are being tagged in the backwaters..(where people vote).. with an all out LIE campagin.. I will do my best to do what I can locally to counteract with information.. but I am just one person..


One more thing.. this is from my dear old 80 year old Mom who thinks that that people have lost their minds.. As she said, if the senate could just pass a HRC bill that said my house should be pink.. it would be enough.. the real work comes when we reconcile the House and Senate bills and we have a ton of moving room to get the things we want when we get those two bill together..

God if people could just stop and think instead of marching in circles and look at the bigger picture. We might lose this bill because some of our own people can's see the forest for the trees.. anyhoo.. just wanted to let you know

1. You could not be more correct

I live in Kentucky, and what passes for media here sounds like what you have. The President is HATED here and the Rush-bots obey and call him a socialist. Just passing this bill and getting something done would be such a blessing with all there is to fight out there. People who want perfection just don't get what we are facing, the brainwashing in the south and west.

I think I am more sick of liberal media people than Limbaugh and Beck now, they are going to be the ones that cost us the Whitehouse in 2012, and I wouldn't be at all surprized if it weren't as much for their ratings as the idiots on the right spew vile hatred in ordeer to boost theirs. The so-called liberal media is going to help Limbaugh distroy this country because their liberal robots are just as sickening in their own way as the Rush-bots are in theirs.

I am tired of battling the media. Right now I fear we will be stuck with a Republican in the Whitehouse in 2012, I can honestly say that looking at DU and the "liberal" media, I despise them all right now for what they are going to cost us with their little games. Worthless bunch. Nasty creeps, they have no idea how people suffer in "red" states from the right-wing religion and radio brain washing. They will cost us so much.

2. It's very disheartening

to read and hear all the negative attacks from our own, when not a single person has read the legislation because it's not even finalized yet. *sigh I'm still optimistic for some real improvement in our system and I still have faith Obama and the dems CAN get it done.

4. You are so right...

Medicare E-V-O-L-V-E-D. It's still evolving. Those are are skeerrrred about government involved in healthcare don't seem to mind Medicare.

Those of us with insurance have insurance dictating our healthcare to our doctors and always have. If they don't cover whatever it is(procedure, medication, etc) we either don't get/take or we pay out of pocket.

If the HCR bill just does away with lifetime limits, pre-existing conditions, cancelling insurance when someone gets ill, it's BETTER THAN IT IS NOW!

We know how viciously determined they are to derail any success Pres Obama might have even if the people soaking it up are cutting off their collective nose to spite their face.

And, the people around here do not want to look at the big picture..they are about Obama's failure too..for whatever reason.
