This is a new one for me - I've never seen this reason given for locking a thread previously. Does this mean that disruptors can simply attack a thread like mad, then if all the personal attacks are alerted on, it becomes "too difficult to moderate"? This seems like a "let the disruptors" win attitude - am I the only one who feels this way?

The locking post was posted under the name "Moderator", and signed "DU Moderators", so it looks like a team consensus.

As for the comment, maybe they are just over run with mod duties right now?

the poster kept posting deletable posts so fast it was impossible to keep up.

I alerted on that thread for personal attacks, and I see the subthread that offended me was deleted(toward the top, because I just run out of fortitude while reading the pile-on posts). I don't envy the moderators, but it does seem like the haters are winning.

other forums, such as this. It's a sad commentary on the Admins, but in an effort not to be like FR, they seem to have let the disruptors & trolls take over the place. There's actually a thread complaining about the President's motorcade in Hawaii. This place has officially jumped the shark.

9. Yes it does and I've seen before on perfectly good informative

threads in GDP..and I've seen the disruptors accusing Pres Obama supporters of doing it.

On the other threads I pmed the mod and ask the same question and the thread was actually reopened until..alas it was locked again down the line for the same thing.

So the ugly little creeps think they win..but actually what do they have? A hamquist sandwich?
