Edited the title :)
Pro-troop group wants Sheehan's land
By ANGELA K. BROWN
Associated Press Writer

FORT WORTH, Texas --Days after Cindy Sheehan announced she was stepping down as the face of the anti-war movement, a pro-troop organization said Friday it plans to buy her protest site outside President Bush's ranch.

But Sheehan doesn't want to sell to just anyone.

"It'll be a cold day in hell before she sells it to them," her sister, Dede Miller, told The Associated Press. "She'll sell it to them for $5 million."

Move America Forward wants to place a monument to the troops on the 5-acre site in Crawford, about 100 miles south of Fort Worth.

I hope she'd resist selling it to them at any price.

15. True. I was confusing him with Bobby BEberle, son of
Bruce Eberle and from a whole family of RW whores.

4. 'pro-troop group'? WTF?
Edited on Fri Jun-01-07 06:43 AM by cynatnite
That is some screwed up reporting if you ask me. They couldn't say 'pro-war group'?

In other word, just what you said.

7. Propaganda
"pro-troop" group implies that anti-war folk are "against the troops". Ask the fellows who went from Ft. Hood to Camp Casey out of uniform to tell Cindy that they supported her efforts to keep them out of the meat grinder that is Iraq.

8. I'd sell it to them, for the five million, if they'll pay it!!
Ten, twenty, fifty years from now it won't be worth that much. If she can get those guppies to pay that much for the damned bit of dirt, she should take the money and run like hell.

If it's money she needs to pay the taxes or what have you, she should turn it into a campground. Rent a few porta potties, divvy it up into campsites, maybe put up a few pay-as-you-go showers; hell, she could rent out plots to the homeless at a reasonable price per day!! Then old Homeless Bob could say he's a neighbor to el Dunce.

If she's selling it on EBAY, though, no telling who will end up with it. You can't know who's bidding, so how can she screen out those dweebs. And even at that, someone could buy the land and turn around and sell it to these bozos.

I say find out what they say they'll pay and then double or triple the price. Stick 'em. In a few years, no one will care about their little whiney gesture, because the troops will be home at last, Diebold willing...

13. No kidding!
Anyone who ever went to Crawford or Camp Casey will tell you the place is an absolute shithole! As soon as GWB moves out of the pigfarm at the end of his term, no one will ever go to that dump again.

And where the newspaper article refers to "downtown"---they mean "where the stoplight is".

10. Sell With An Option That Forces Them To Buy in 2010....
Surely these morons will love to grab the land...so make it worth Cindy's while. Right now the land's probably worth more than it will be when asshat is exiled to Playstation land. I don't see Crawford becoming the shrine that Mount Vernon or even Hyde Park is. Hell, my bets are the folks in Crawford have had their fill of all the intrusions into their private lives...especially when you're the home of what is already being written as a failed Presidency. Crawford will rank up there with West Branch, Iowa...Herbert Hoover's hometown.

Maybe she can get some sucker who will pay top dollar on land that is sure to be worthless in a couple years...less than worthless. Plus, if they really want to live next to their feckless leader, they may want to look at the real estate market in Paraguay.

11. The article says she plans to sell the land on eBay next week -
- so how would she know who was truly bidding and their intentions? If she auctions it on eBay, doesn't it go to the highest bidder?

12. And when Dubya sells that Potemkin Palace in 2009...
The "Pro-Troops" idiots will be big-assed losers.

I hope Cindy retains the mineral rights.

14. How much do they want to spend...
...just to protect *'s ever-more-fragile ego? Will they buy all the land around every one of his estates, ensuring that he never has to face any of the disapproval he's earned?
