A Sacramento woman dying of cancer is begging the thieves who broke into her home to return heartfelt letters she's leaving behind for her four children.
When Lori Smith had her first child 17 years ago, she began writing letters. "I would write about their birth, about other important moments in their lives and how we both experienced the day," said Smith.
She continued writing the letters throughout the lives of Jovan, 17, Marisa, 12, Annemarie, 10, and Nicholas, 9.
"From the day we were born up until now, she's been writing them about the stuff we said to each other and conversations we've had and, you know, things that were special to her," said Annemarie.
Three years ago, Lori was diagnosed with breast cancer. As the cancer spread to other areas of her body, her letters began to take on an even greater importance.
