In listening to the WJ this AM, I now realize just how hateful Pubs really are!
The host asked the question "Should Gitmo be closed?" EVERY Pub that called said NO! One said try them and HANG THEM!

OH GOD! Some Pub just said he thinks history will view Shrub as another Moses!

Ya know, I keep hearing polsters say the American people want a President who can work with both parties and get things done. I'm convinced this is total BS! They only want a Prez who will do what THEY WANT, and the other Party be damned!

3. Hmmm, interesting. I wonder if that Pub caller would feel the same
about the Bushco criminals getting the treatment he recommended for the prisoners at Gitmo?

4. Three-quarters of the POWs in Gitmo have been released.
They've been subjected to solitary confinement & torture for years, and now they've been freed without any charge.

How many more innocent people have we imprisoned there?

The Guantanamobile Project
http://guantanamobile.org/timeline.php

Jan 11 2002: First prisoners arrive at the camp. By April their number are estimated to be about 750.

Oct 28 2002: A number of inmates are freed.

Feb 13 2004: Detentions to be reviewed.

Mar 19 2004: Five British detainees are freed. In the months that follow, dozens of other inmates are released to their home countries.

Aug 6 2005: The US is negotiating the transfer of nearly 70 percent of the detainees to their home countries. Scheduled to begin by early 2006.

Dec 7 2006: Nearly 400 are believed to remain in detention.

All the while, we have continued to send more POWs there and remove others - some are freed, some are sent to "black" prisons in foreign countries. The Bush regime has repeatedly refused to reveal just who they have detained & exactly how many they have. Most have never been charged with any crime - even after five years.

5. That woman from Michigan
with a noticeable foreign accent who said that if liberals didn't agree with her view, they should leave the country. I really wanted to slap her. If she doesn't understand our Constitution, perhaps she should leave the country until she's studied it and taken a refresher quiz.

10. I think you're misunderstanding the posters point.
I honestly couldn't tell where that lady was from...Russian maybe, but she was completely out of it. She kept saying that all the people in Gitmo wanted to kill us, and if liberals can't accept that, they should just leave this country! I wouldn't say I wanted to slap her because slapping people just isn't my MO, but I would have loved to ask her just where she was from and how she KNOWS all the people in Gitmo are GUILTY of anythng????

12. My point is that someone who voluntarily came here...
supposedly because they love what this country stands for but who actually don't understand the principles on which America was founded, should not presume to tell liberals that they are so wrong they should leave. We are the ones supporting the Constitution, not her.
BTW, her English was fine. I was just making the point that she, as foreign born, had a lot of nerve suggesting that liberals, native born and naturalized should leave. Personally, I think this would be a better country without those who desire authoritarian rule but they will always be with us so we just have to figure out how to deal with them.

11. Yep. I recall the audience at the last Republican presidential debate
cheering wildly when Romney said he would double the size of Gitmo, and the silence following McCain's criticism of torture. That's a sick set of moral principles.
