I agree. So why didn't Mr. Microphone vote to end the damn war? This guy never stops talking, but he doesn't really say anything.
On edit- watching the Iowa Dems fund raiser on C-Span.

8. Biden wants to start bringing home the troops in 4 months
May 25, 2007
Press Release

SEN. BIDEN Introduces Legislation to Repeal 2002 War Authorization

Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. (D-DE) introduced legislation (S.J. Res 15) today to repeal the original 2002 Iraq war authorization, replacing it with a much narrower mission statement for our troops in Iraq. The new mission - to start immediately - would be limited to: combating terrorists, training Iraqis and force protection for our troops. Sen. Biden's legislation requires that the President start withdrawing troops in 4 months and sets a goal of getting all troops that are unnecessary for the new mission out by March 2008. The legislation also specifically states that nothing in the new, limited authority allows the President to attack Iran or Syria.

26. sounds like a good idea to me.
Mary Matalin's new Republican Talking Point, what is going to happen the day after we pull out, well, since this is an illegal
occupation and the revenue for their sole resource Oil has gone missing for the last 4 years, I think that Iraq will be unstable
but much of the violence even against Iraqis is generated by their hatred of our occupation.

4. He has his own timetable
The question most Americans want answered about Iraq is this: When will our troops come home?

We already know the likely answer. In 2006, they will begin to leave in large numbers. By the end of the year, we will have redeployed about 50,000. In 2007, a significant number of the remaining 100,000 will follow. A small force will stay behind - in Iraq or across the border - to strike at any concentration of terrorists.

Wow, guy's a clairvoyant.

Biden thinks he alone has the magic plan: Partition. Just as Iraqis seem to be on the point of starting to talk to each other.

He's a genius.

31. Not according to DoD
The U.S. Navy evaluated nine suppliers for the procurement of Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) trucks, destined to augment and later replace up-armored HMMWVs currently operating in Iraq and Afghanistan. The new vehicles provides much improved protection , specifically against Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), which cause 70% of all U.S. casualties in Iraq.

But then again, I only looked at page one.

Maybe what you are referring to is on a further page?

Why would you be against a vehicle that could help the soldiers from all of these injuries? Sounds like someone else I know....

39. I think we save them from harm by bringing them home from
this imbecilic war and not sending them out to die for imperialist/corporate profit. That should not be too hard a concept to grasp. In a previous existence, you would have been a scurrilous Red baiter!

And, yes, you did not look hard enough.

9. Because Not Funding It Wouldn't End It
Dubya is a stubborn jerk. If Congress had not given him the funding, he would have kept the troops over there without funding them or found some other creative accounting way to get money for his little war. Remember he has friends from Enron - by the time the little shell game was discovered, Bush would be out of office.

Biden wasn't about to get into that pissing match with Dubya, or, maybe I should just say Biden wasn't about to play chicken with the lives of our soldiers.

I fully understand Biden's vote, and I don't hold it against him in the least. I have another candidate I am backing in this primary, but I don't like to see Biden pilloried for being sensible about this. If the media were fair, Biden would have had a better opportunity to explain his vote, but, well, if wishes were horses...

20. Yeah right even an asshole republican didn't like what Joe put in it.
it was the Delaware Senators who balked at any amendments that would have stopped some of the worst abuse companies use when filing bankruptcy.

Even more instructive was what happened when a staunch conservative, Republican Sen. John Cornyn ? of Texas, tried to put a little balance into the bill.

As attorney general of Texas, Cornyn said the notorious Enron bankruptcy case "opened my eyes to a very real abuse in the current bankruptcy system," the loophole that allows corporations to go "judge-shopping" for jurisdictions with permissive standards. Enron, which had 7,500 employees in Houston, filed for bankruptcy in New York, where it had 57 workers, because New York, along with Delaware, is known as being lenient on big business.

Congress recently passed a law restricting plaintiffs in class-action suits from judge-shopping in the state courts, and Cornyn argued that it should also require corporate bankruptcy cases to be filed in their principal place of business. Citing cases of Polaroid, K-Mart, WorldCom and Enron, he said the judge-shopping loophole "serves to unfairly enable corporate debtors to evade their financial commitments, (and) it badly disables consumers, creditors, workers, pensioners, shareholders and small businesses from pursuing and receiving reasonable compensation from bankruptcy proceedings."

No one rose to dispute Cornyn. So what happened? He withdrew the amendment, without a vote, "out of respect to the managers of this bill who say that amendments to this bill would endanger its ultimate passage."

A Cornyn spokesman told me the bill sponsors said his amendment would cost them the support of the two Democratic senators from Delaware — that favorite haven for big business.

Sorry your candidate has no credence, although he is OK until we get a better one from Delaware.

22. Since the GOP was the majority at that time
This makes absolutely no sense.

If Cornyn wanted an ammendment, his party had the power
to do just that.
