‘We do not think it is necessary for the Americans to exaggerate what has happened,’ Ali Larijani told CNN in an interview from Madrid where he held talks with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana.
‘You should be sure that these people are Iranians before they are Americans,’ he said, referring to Iran’s longstanding stance of not recognising dual nationality. ‘The way the US government has chosen to raise this topic is not very fair.’
