22. Gravel was responding and I could hear Edwards or Obama mumbling in the background
I'm so fed up with candidates that the big media and party leaders choose for us. I would like to hear more about Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich. I like their ideas and forthrightness.

29. I think that was the control room allowing bleed-through
or whatever the heck they'd call it.

Maybe it was subliminal messages! :-) At any rate it only happened to Gravel and Kucinich.

3. Woo hoo!
I need to change my avatar since it looks pretty dann certain that Clark won't run. And if they're both on the primary ballot I'd probably go for Gore since he'd have a better chance anyway.

Gore-Clark 2008!

12. Where is Clark these days? If he doesn't run, he would make a wonderful
Vice President or Secretary of Defense or State.

6. As much a Gore has to offer, and I supported him in 1988,
I don't really think debates are his strong suit.

7. Oh, BS.
He wins every debate on facts. Style is not his strong suit, politics is the art of evading questions, and he would rather give answers. Sometimes, answers to big questions are very, very long and don't fit the modern art of the soundbite. Therefore, he "loses" the beauty pageant, but wins on the issues.

I think he'd be much better in a debate now.

humor of watching a man try to get into another man's personal space?

36. OK, Ok. I respect the thoughtful Al Gore who is trying to raise awareness of criticial issues
about the environment, and who seems so at ease 90% of the time he's in public.

But I didn't have to wait for the media spin after the '00 debates to know that the debates were not going as well as they should have for Al.

PAGING AL GORE!!!

Actually, I don't have a huge Al Gore fixation, but I am so disappointed in who we have ended up with now, with possibly the exception of Kucinich. I can live with Obama. Edwards is o.k. Gravel is my fave iconoclast (and the only one), but he doesn't stand a chance in Blue Blazes.

But, oh, all the Senators...

20. Yes it is! Gore doesn't want to go into these "Canned/Programmed Horse Races" moderated
by Corporate Sychophants who have been doing this so long they are like the Conductors in a Symphony for the dead and dying.

33. Two minutes are up.
Back to the fixation. I'm 60 pages into Assault On Reason, and I'm transfixed by this man's ability to SAY IT OUT LOUD. I haven't heard anything like this from anyone but Edwards, and Obama perhaps once or twice.

Gore would change the face of politics in this nation, period. Precisely because he's been that, done that. And now -- he doesn't. He would have a head start on cleaning out the viper-closet, simply from having been who he's been.

No intent to irritate, here. But my Gore fixation has a lot to do with my fascination with restoring the United States Of America, land that I love. He's it.

and it is a brilliantly argued piece of work. He grasps with such singular clarity the core things that need to be done in this country and it is inspiring to read. Run, Al, run!!
