What the hell is on CNN right now?
Edited on Sun Jun-03-07 10:42 PM by minkyboodle
CNN Newsroom: You Say What

This is the absolute worst example of media soundbite syndrome
I've ever seen. The host is a prototype for the "loud cut you
off prick" I've ever seen. I'm sorry if this is being discussed
already, I checked and didn't see it. But then again I'm not in
the best state of mind right now so maybe I missed it. But really
this show is almost like a parody of future news in cheesy 80s
films like "Running Man" Its kind of blowing my mind, am I alone
in this? Let me know and feel free to take me down if this is
as redundant post. I didn't see the debate waiting to watch the
replay and can't believe what I'm seeing.

1. It's Joe Biden explaining how people can get over the "wall" but 20 Kilos of cocaine can't.
I'm just as confused as you are. :eyes:

I don't think I took my crazy pills this afternoon but maybe I did. I'm
currently trying to counter act that with vodka :) I wish they would run
the damn debate already. I keep waiting for that douche bag Luntz to make
a cameo on this program. Bizarro for sure.

3. I watched one second of it and slammed the TV off! Who is
this creep? A Jerry Spinger clone? I honestly don't know and I didn't give him more than a minute of my time, but if this is what is considered to be intelligent discussion count me gone forever to any future discussions on TV "news"

5. lol
Right as I posted this

Its Ron Burgandy's dumb sibling, btw I had the same reaction
but my morbid curiosity took over. Its bad, I mean Fox News
might be ashamed of the value of this program.
Also not ragging on Anchorman, love that flick but I prefer
it to stay comedy not prime time cable news.

is really Ron Burgandy's idiot brother

Thanks chimpsrsmarter, that says all I ever could.
What does it say about CNN that they have put him
in this position. I would say its shocking/astounding
but I am suffering from msm shock fatigue. Thanks for
the link.

7. You are not alone, and I'm so glad there is a place like DU where
we can vent our true perceptions of insanity. I didn't see the debates because I'm disgusted with all current politicians. They repel me. "The Parliament of Whores" is a very apt title.

17. It was Rick Sanchez, baby!
He's the worst. I should know, he used to be local.

My husband and I were thinking it should have been called, "Child, please."

19. Correct...the worse! Which is why I thought he was removed sometime ago!
Sorry to see he is back! :(

His little panel of Republicans was scary.....cause I guess we were supposed to think that they were Democrats! In particular the Black woman, who must be Condi's relative or something. Yikes! Was scary!

20. This guy has more lives than a cat.

To start with, he was so bad on WSVN that he was constantly ridiculed. He made his name in the annals of bad newscaster history by squatting over giant maps of Cuba and Iraq in the newsroom. In other news, he was involved with a local criminal, and skipped off to Houston. He also hit a man with his car after a Dolphins game. The man went into a coma, and eventually died. This link is to a story before the man's death.

"Although he initially thrived at Channel 7, Rick quickly earned himself a second exile. In 1985 wiretaps recorded Rick trading favors with his friend Alberto San Pedro, a self-proclaimed political fixer described by police as "a major corrupter in Hialeah." With his journalistic reputation compromised, Rick fled Miami in shame. At least one source tells us he may have landed at a Houston television station, though the Night Team has not been able to confirm that at this hour. It is not implausible that Rick actually returned to his homeland, perhaps for intensive training.

Returning to Miami two years later with a resolve to make it to the top, Rick emerged as a local news celebrity after WSVN adopted a lucrative "if it bleeds it leads" philosophy. Rick blew up so big in Miami that he easily survived a second scandal, in 1991, when he pleaded no contest to charges of driving while intoxicated after he hit a pedestrian following a Dolphins game. In 1996 Rick signed a five-year, seven-figure contract to stay at WSVN."

Here's a local radio bit about him from back in the day. http://sounds1.neilrogers.com/sounds/bonr1992/34.mp3

i was thinking typical news sleazebag but obviously I was setting
the bar way too high. How the hell is this guy employed by CNN to
headline a major political debate? Oh yeah I forgot it must be that
liberal media at it again :sarcasm:
