OMG...I just saw a "debate" on CNN w/ Edwards, Obama and Clinton |

John Edwards who I previously viewed as my fav. outside Gore who says he will not run and Kucinich who appears to have no chance....I thought I was watching an old time revival meeting when Edwards was holding forth on speaking to God...holy cow...and my god...sorry but I just lost all respect for Edwards and wish it was Elizabeth who was running...Obama whom I heretofore didn't put much faith in because of his experience. Now all bets are off...Obama was smart thinking on his feet and was making the right decisions on many issues....Hillery is on now and doing a smart job but who has too much baggage....but so far...and just now... in my head it's Obama of these three, by a landslide... a big sea change...and yes Clinton is smart. But Edwards in my head is out.

1. It isn't a debate, and was never meant to be. It's a forum on faith and poverty. |

2. I disagree -- I think Edwards handled his segment the best |
|
He talked about what he faith means to him personally, not necessarily how he would LEGISLATE based on his faith. He really stressed that what he believes personally is separate from what might be required of him as president (i.e., responsibility to be neutral to all faiths or no faith). I felt that both Obama and Clinton were far too policy-heavy and acted more as candidates than as people (when I thought the intent was just to have a conversation with each of them as individuals).

3. Why did this show even exist. |
|
I totally missed it, but why does such an ugly thing exist in our secular constitutional democracy?

4. Bingo....and that is the real question. |
|
It appears to me that it was a test to measure adherence to the religious stranglehold on this country.

5. Because there are many religious people in the nation who want to hear these questions answered? |
