and it deserves a really good answer, but I'm sure not able to come up with one very easily!
To people who can actually think, it seems incomprehensible that anyone would believe the dim son is worthy of their loyalty. He can't even present himself as a halfway bright leader, and in fact is a public embarrassment to most Americans by now.
There have been plenty of jokes made at many presidents' expense, and lots of them on target, with criticism justified. But I can think of NO president who has deserved the derisive, dismissive laughter he generates as much as this one. He is a walking joke, in fact ... yet here he has been in the Oval Office for six years and counting, tearing our country and our Constitution to bits and trampling over the very freedoms that he touts so fraudulently wherever he appears.
What IS wrong with people who stick by such a sorry excuse for a "leader"?
I honestly don't know, but I tend to think it has something to do with the "crime family mentality."
After all, as another poster noted, Chimpy brought most all of his dastardly crew with him from a long way back -- many of them from his dad's circle, still calling the shots from behind the scenes.
It probably has to do with that bane of our modern world, the unbridled thirst for power, wealth and control, which seems almost primitive in its naked aggression and hubris. Nothing seems to matter to these people except gaining and holding power, whatever the cost to others -- even their own children's futures! Anyone who challenges their control is fiercely attacked and, if they have their way, destroyed.
I suspect there is a great deal of fear among the "henchcrew," also, since they know better than anyone what happens to the enemies of their "don," and surely they don't want to share such a fate!
Ultimately, though, I believe that when very bad actors gain so much power as the BFEE has, other bad actors who have affiliated themselves with such "leaders" see that affiliation as beneficial to them, too. Hang onto the coattails of such wicked power, prove yourself loyal no matter what you're asked (or told) to do, and you will be rewarded.
It's about the only thing that makes sense to me, as to why anyone would stick with these bastards.
All I keep thinking of as I write this, too, is that the very sorts of "friends and supporters" of the Bu$h Cabal remind me of those who were also loyal to Adolph Hitler -- to the very end when der Fuhrer LOST his power along with his mind.
We can only hope, I guess, that they all come to a similar bad end as those guys did.
But really? I share your bafflement ... and I despair for my country in the hands of these "leaders."
