One thing today showed me is the internet has made our world much closer, connected community
Between DUer Monkeyman's death and rosaliehnv signing up to find out why her missing daughter's name showed up here on a search, it has shown me that the internet has made the world a lot more connected. Peace to both these people and to all here. Thank you for caring.

1. We're Democrats Progressives Liberals. It's in our blood, our makeup to care.
I so hope Rosalie has happy news soon. Her daughter has been on my mind all day long.

3. i'm worried sick about the daughter of a woman I've never met
and i am very saddened by the passing of a man I knew only from reading a few of his posts.

It's really amazing how faceless anonymous strangers can touch each others lives so much.

DU is a very special place. Not perfect. But a perfect place for me.

5. The internet is the greatest invention in recent history
It most definitely has brought us together. Without it, we would be clueless that there is a large segment of the country that is disgusted with Bush.

6. The internet is where I get my info
I read books but the library is there on line

Which I have showed you in iPod university education links you can
receive at your leisure.

the internet is a facebook and a factbook
which has left the public library, a repository of information,( needs to be available)
but is lacking in the personal interface on........LOOK what I found? ......no talking..be quiet.

Really? I am from a part of the world that did not know that.
it is a global warming of communication that is melting information
for the masses that has been frozen for years.

8. Yes, it is the corporate media's worst nightmare
They were on the verge on controlling all information, but then came the internet.

12. Yes, that is why they are trying to make it
open sourced just like an operating system.

Which is what it is.

7. The Internet is kinda like when Martin Luther wrote the Bible in German.
Allowed poor people access to it for themselves. Didn't need the Church to dictate the tone. Not that it was instant access. I hear some people still use AOL and have dial-up.

10. And I guess AOL is kind of like when ...
Joseph Smith founded Mormonism, requiring all his followers to be blind to the actual world outside.
