Viet Nam war protest - what we need to do now

In thinking on the how to get the message across to those in power as to just how much most of the country wants out of Iraq and the extent of the anger that people feel , Iremembered that during Viet Nam we had a National Day of Protest, it was a nation wide wide walkout of schools and businesses. I believe it was called a National Moratorium, now the problem is that no matter which way I Google it I can not find any information on this or at least nothing in the time frame I remember it being which was late autumn of 1971, it was cold and raining out I was a freshman in high school at first the principle threatened to take disciplinary actions against any students that participated but gave it up when over 1,000 students walked out.
We need some thing like this now.
Does anyone out there remember this? As I said I can not find any info, hopefully I'm not getting addled in my old age, any help would be appreciated.
