GOP congressional candidate denounces Iraq invasion

Republican congressional candidate James Ogonowski, whose brother was an American Airlines pilot killed on Sept. 11, 2001, said today that President Bush "was wrong to invade Iraq."

While Saddam Hussein may have been a ruthless dictator, Ogonowski said there wasn’t evidence that Iraq was actively supporting terrorism or planning an attack against the United States.

"Although I think it was wrong to invade Iraq," said Ogonowski, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and the sole Republican vying to replace US Representative Martin T. Meehan. "It does not change my determination to win the war in Iraq. I will never waiver in keeping America safe and strong."

he knows he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning if he supports the war. As it is, he won't win-he's competing against two women, one being Nikki Tsongas.

2. If such an educated man doesn't know the difference

between "waiver" and "waver," he certainly deserves no consideration for a position where such meanings are important.
