Eleven people were kidnapped in Khalis. Despite repeated warnings, Turkey continues to escalate activities on the border. Also one Task Force Lightning soldier was killed during a small arms attack in Diyala province today, and an airman died on Thursday from wounds received during an IED blast south of Balad.

In Baghdad, 24 bodies were found dumped around town. A roadside bomb attack on a minibus left four dead and seven injured in Baladiyat. In Adhamiya, a car bomb killed a police commando and a pedestrian, while wounding six commandos and another civilian. Earlier, a policeman was killed and another wounded in a nearby gun attack. Also in Adhamiya, the body of Colonel Faris al-Duri was discovered. A roadside bomb in Za’afaraniya left three policemen wounded. U.S. forces killed a suspect during a raid. In al-Shabb, a car bomb killed two people and wounded eight more. Sporadic clashing took place in Amil, leaving four civilians wounded.
Mortars fired into the detention center at the U.S.-run Camp Bucca left six detainees dead and at least 50 wounded.
