A suicide truck bomber killed 13 Iraqi soldiers and wounded 30 others more during an attack at a checkpoint near Hilla.

In Baghdad, 24 bodies were found dumped around town. A roadside bomb attack on a minibus left four dead and seven injured in Baladiyat. In Adhamiya, a car bomb killed a police commando and a pedestrian, while wounding six commandos and another civilian. Earlier, a policeman was killed and another wounded in a nearby gun attack. Also in Adhamiya, the body of Colonel Faris al-Duri was discovered. A roadside bomb in Za’afaraniya left three policemen wounded. U.S. forces killed a suspect during a raid.
