Edited on Sat Jun-09-07 09:45 PM by greenbriar
had the weekend to myself, found I was bored and decided to go to the bingo parlor down the road.

I had been there about 8 times in the last 7 years and it was ALWAYS packed, smokey and loud. Usually it is hard to find 2 spots together and it is almost impossible to find two spots together in the non-smoking section

Tonight, there were two people at my table Me and one lady two chairs down. I would estimate that the non smoking section was less than half-full

the smoking section was not much fuller.

NOW people argue that Bingo is a poor mans game, well if that is so...this being the first weekned of the month, I would have guessed it to be fuller.

Usually my luck is not so great but tonight I won 3 times. Walked out with enough money to pay my daugters summer church camp of 350.00 and have spendign money...kind of cool if ya ask me

3. You are right.
In my area of the country, I went to JackInTheBox Thursday to pick up some french fries and onion rings. This was at five p.m.. I drove through by myself, something that has never happened at this time. There are several fast food places and gas stations around, all empty. Then I looked at the parking lots of stores and other restaurants, fairly empty. All I can say is dumdedumdum.

11. It can't be in the dumps. Unemployment is low and offshoring isn't hurting anybody.

12. I'm not saying the economy sucks, but restraunts are fickle business
they are a risky investment. Sometimes an offer is right to get out... and with the franchises, if its not making good money, its not worth continuing to pay out.

13. Did any Indian gambling casinos open in you region?
We had two BINGO concessions in town (American Legion and Catholic church) that were going gangbusters for years until an Indian casino opened up. The enthusiasm for BINGO wained and the doors closed.
