Did the Republicans leave themselves open for attack on suggesting Libby be pardoned?
Edited on Sun Jun-10-07 01:33 PM by Quixote1818
Seems to me this is a golden opportunity to say they support obstruction of justice, treason and fraud. Whoever the Democratic candidate is he/she should be able to nail them on this.

Do you agree or will such an attack fall flat?

On Edit: I know a heavy majority of Americans believe he broke the law and should pay.

1. Typical american: Libby? Who's that? a friend of Paris?
as with EVERY single dirty rotten criminal hypocritical thing they pull, it will be ignored, as the media machine dengirates/vitiates the importance of the treason committed.

evidenced by David Broder's latest release of White House talking points

how many people in the country have HEARD the name Brewster Jennings, much less know the significance thereof?

If this story had broken in the manner it should have, and had been pursued by the likes of Jeff Gerth or Sue Schmidt or Isikoff, the way they went after Whitewater/Monica, Bush would not only NOT have been "reelected," half his administration would be in jail by now.

2. He doesn't need a pardon. He'll walk on appeal.

3. Excellent huffpo. Johnson relies for the core of his blog on Robert Parry, who
was there when the shit started hitting the fan, with the North/Poindexter overturnings, was just about the only reporter to persist on the true significance of Iran/Contra, and got fired twice for his troubles

if you want to permanently raise your blood pressure, read Laurence Walsh's "Firewall," then "The Hunting of the President" back to back

4. I've already read, the Hunting of the President.
I'll pick up "Firewall".

A lot of these characters showed up in David Brock's "Blinded by the Right".

5. amen to that, and "Judge" Silberman is as filthy a swine who's ever
wallowed in the trough of dirty politics

scroll down a bit past halfway through this for a brief reminder of just what a scumbag this disgrace to the name "judge" is, and how he exemplifies what the fascist party has done to the judicial system since Reagan stole his first election
