Congressional Junket to Iraq Canceled Because Its Too Dangerous
Submitted by cactuspat on Sun, 2007-06-10 20:58. Activism | Media | Organizing Locally

Last week Tallahassee anti-war activists attended a meeting with Congressman Allen Boyd (FL2-D) to demand an end to the Iraq War and to bring the troops home. Out of that meeting came a heretofore unknown news item.

At the behest of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Congressman Boyd recently organized a Congressional junket to Iraq for members of Congress (including Republicans) who haven't been to Iraq.

That's where the problems ensued... Turns out the junket had to be scrapped due to security concerns. It was too dangerous for the congress-critters to stay over-night, even in the "Green Zone", and the foray deemed impractical for a one-day visit.

Says a lot about how well Smirk's war escalation is going, eh?

1. Aren't we turning the corner on Vietnam, er, Iraq?
If we keep turning the corner, we'll end up where we started I guess.

6. And here's the Friendship flea market near the Ohio River:

Better to shop with the terrorists in Baghdad than with the terrists lurking behind those outdoor Indiana tents!
