Apple's Safari browser available for Windows
http://www.apple.com/safari/

I use it on those rare pages that Firefox won't open. It's nice, and fast, but there are a few add-ons that keep me hooked on Firefox. I've been 100% IE-free for a couple of years now; I strongly recommend it if you like faster web surfing, pages rendered properly, no MS security holes, a little bit of peace of mind in breaking apart the IE/Windows control of your machine. Check it out...

Apple Introduces Safari for Windows

The world’s fastest web browser for Macs is now available for Windows PC’s. Safari 3, introduced at the World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco, is the fastest browser running on Windows, based on the industry standard iBench tests, rendering web pages up to twice as fast as IE 7 and up to 1.6 times faster than Firefox 2. Safari joins iTunes in delivering Apple’s legendary user experience to both Windows and Mac users as well as full support of open Internet standards. Safari 3 features easy-to-manage bookmarks, effortless browsing with easy-to-organize tabs and a built-in RSS reader to quickly scan the latest news and information. Safari 3 public beta is available today as a free download at www.apple.com/safari.

iPhone to Support Third-Party Web 2.0 Applications

When it begins shipping on June 29, the revolutionary iPhone will run applications created with Web 2.0 Internet standards Apple today announced that developers can create Web 2.0 applications that look and behave just like the applications built into iPhone and that can seamlessly access iPhone’s services. That includes making a phone call, sending an email and displaying a location in Google Maps. Third-party applications created using Web 2.0 standards can extend iPhone’s capabilities without compromising its reliability or security.

1. Mozilla is still the only browser I currently test under that truly supports the javascript DOM

the others, including Safari, do not, I'm sad to say. :-(

Firefox is becoming a truly excellent browser, IMO.

2. Yeah, you say that without using "innerText" in Firefox...
Are you using Firebug in Firefox to debug your Javascript?

What I've noticed is that Safari is more lenient in some aspects of working with the DOM. And what are you doing with the DOM that Safari doesn't "get"? I'm curious.

And tell me about how well previousSibling is working for you in Firefox. Are you getting whitespace or the element you thought you'd get?

4. previousSibling GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Whitespaces are not siblings! I hate that. I never use innerText, only innerHTML. Over the years, I've learned to write very clean CSS & JS so that the majority of browsers won't have an issue with my code. I look back at some of my old stuff (a lot of it is still in use) and cringe.

3. Firefox and Safari
I use Firefox mostly, but I also use Safari for
certain sites that Firefox won't work with.

I do love my Mac. I have a pc laptop that I
hardly ever use, but it comes in handy for
things that work only with Windows.

5. Is there a link to a real review here?
Or is it just an advertisement for Apple? I only see links to apple.com

6. Here you go...from WIRED, more of a commentary than a review.
And not a very good one...but I don't know anything about the author's Mac/Windows stance to begin with...
