Here's a quote from our little dictating decider...
It's referring to our Senate's no-confidence vote on Gonzales.

"They can have their votes of no confidence, but it's not going to make the determination about who serves in my government," Bush said in Sofia, Bulgaria, the last stop on a weeklong visit to Europe.

1. Tells you how far we have fallen from the once great democracy our father fought for
This nation is in shambles at this moment and all the Democrats can do is throw some words at it.

The terrorist have won and they are not who you think they are.

7. King George aside...
A Republic, if we could keep it.

2. Past presidents would have said, "my administration,"
...but they weren't as arrogant as George W.

Of course, to the mainsteam media, he's not an elitist.

3. He's also the guy
that had a near temper-tantrum when somebody referred to him as "Mr. Bush" instead of "Mr. President"

and, of course, one that nobody ever seems to remember is that his feet cannot be allowed to touch dirt.

4. Frankly, I'm surprised he didn't say "My Country"
Frankly, I'm surprised he didn't say "My Country," but we'll forgive him for that slip of the tongue. Gotta be sober to speak articulately.

5. George has always done this
Edited on Tue Jun-12-07 07:43 AM by subliminable
Since it's all about him. I, me, mine.

I remember most presidents avoiding the use of first person singular altogether:

"this administration" or "our administration", usually not "my administration"

I don't believe I've ever heard a president use "my government", and no one uses "I" more than George Bush.

He really doesn't understand the assumed separation between the office and the person of the president.

6. I just did a Google search which showed that Bill Clinton....
...would often say both "my administration" and "our administration" in a single speech.
