ISTANBUL -- Al Gore did a little marketing in Turkey Tuesday for the Live Earth concert to be held at the Seven Towers Fortress this summer.
Joining the former US vice-president for the news conference were representatives from World Wide Fund for Nature Turkey, The Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, Reforestation, and the Protection of Natural Habitats, according to a Live Earth news release.
Global organizer Kevin Wall founded the Live Earth concert series, which will bring together more than 100 of the world's top acts to play to more than 2 billion people.
"Music is an international language that has the power to move people," Wall said. "Live Earth's 24 hours of music spanning all 7 continents will move people in every corner of the planet to take action against global warming."
The 24-hour Live Earth concert series July 7 will start in Australia before moving on to Japan, China, Turkey, South Africa, Britain, Germany, Brazil, and the United States.
