Angelina Jolie Blocks Fox News

Angelina Jolie blocks Fox News.

Fox News reports, fair and balanced:

Angelina Jolie’s true colors came out Wednesday as she promoted a film about freedom of the press and then tried to censor all her interviews. (…)

Jolie told Paramount Pictures publicists to ban FOX News Channel and all FOX News affiliates from covering the “Mighty Heart” premiere on the red carpet. It was only with the intervention of mortified Paramount staff that an FNC camera crew was allowed to be present.

Apparently, no one told Jolie of the highly positive review FOX News had given “A Mighty Heart” from Cannes.

1. I don't consider FNC to be a legit news outfit,...
but nor do I consider "People" "ET" or any of those to be either. So what's the beef?

3. Their film reviewers are fairly honest
It's only when the stable of hate mongering pundits start yammering that films get attacked.

Banning the pundits or anyone from the "news" department isn't censorship. It's just good sense. The reviewers should be invited, though.

2. The more I hear about her these days, the more I like her... LOL!
Go, Angelina!

If enough progressive "block" and/or refuse to watch FOX, they will eventually go down in flames.

5. The film isn't about "freedom of the press," it's about the courage of some of the press.
Therefore, it's a travesty to have Fox News anywhere near it.

7. fauxnoise has earned its
reputation as a propaganda arm of the bushits..hell, tony snow is the latest press secretary lying to the public.

I can see why Angelina would ban their ass from anything resembling "coverage". It doesn't matter if they gave her a good review or not..it's their "catapulting" she is undoubtedly objecting to.

10. don't watch Fox since 2003
I stopped watching Fox News since 2003. I could not bear their war propoganda.
Actually, I think I stopped watching all cable channels since all of them seemed to become parts
of government propopaganda machine.

11. Good for her. Faux News is not about freedom of the press. It
is about controlling the message.

13. But shes also now a member of Council on Foreign Relations - oh the irony.
Next she's going to be on Oprah promoting the importance of everyone having an RFID chip and/or the importance of a unified 'governing system'.

14. Terribly presumptuous of Faux to consider them a *real* news outlet.

After all, they are the soapbox of propagandists like O'Lielly and Han-nutty. They take a hell of a lot for granted. It's not like they are really in the profession of legitimate journalism.

21. It's just hypocritical
Right-wingers pretending that their propaganda is reporting, that is.

Like right-wingers pretending that all of the Republican-biased corporate media mills are a "liberal media".

I'm sorry, but people who want to hear 'all sides' aren't really including unrelenting truth-twisters as a side. That's kind of a given.
