Drudge linking to Sicko bittorrent
His headline says, "SICKO hits the net a week before release... "

Then he links to the download of the movie. Can't he be sued for this, or arrested? He's willfully and knowingly trying to disseminate this movie before it's release. He should be held accountable.

1. The irony is
Dumbass Drudge is inadvertantly spreading the movie and it's message to an ever wider audience.

And I doubt Moore gives a rats ass.

18. Remember that Mike gave up an Oscar for F9/11 because he wanted it shown on tv so more
people could see it.

23. And my guess is, that when you think that you can't Love Mike more, you will see Sicko
and will want to kiss the ground he walks on.

:hi:

2. Lotta free showings of the Gore film.
Still managed to make a mint. I wouldn't worry a bit about this.

4. Moore wanted F9/11 pirated
He only cared about as many people as possible seeing it. I wonder if he feels the same about this movie. Probably.

6. Agreed. There is no way that Moore will elect to enforce the law. Moore is happy with this. (nt)

17. His distributor may have other ideas though
Edited on Fri Jun-15-07 11:57 AM by kenny blankenship
If you produce a movie and direct it and act in it, you still need a distribution company. In this case that would be The Weinstein Company (TWC). Lion's Gate books theater dates for Sicko, and TWC owns the international distribution rights.
TWC may take a dim view of Drudge posting link to a bittorent metadata file, and if they decide to file a complaint with the FBI, Michael Moore may have little say about it--in fact, none if TWC insists.

7. It's been available in the newsgroups for 3 days now
There is a post over at Newzbin, where someone claims that MM put it up himself because he was afraid the master would get seized, so he hid a copy in Canada, where it just *happened* to appear on the web.

24. I have a feeling that's the case
It's just too coincidental, and fits all too well with the possibility of masters being seized.

9. Good! If it's on the internet, it will be there forever even if
Drudge deletes it. If the insurance industry tries to trash it or get it banned they won't be able to get rid of it in the long run.

11. It should be very interesting...
To see if the MPAA goes after Drudge for linking to this torrent. They have gone after others for less, in the past.

12. Now all the RWers who wouldn't be caught dead paying money at a theater to see it
will watch it, too. Too bad Moore won't get their $, but it's a good thing that they'll see the movie.

20. They say it is legal.
The thing about bit torrent is that it is legal. The metafiles don’t store copyrighted data, or so they claim.
