Rumors that Paul Zahn Now is no more
Zahn Is Losing 'Now;' Dobbs Could Get New Timeslot As Campbell Brown Joins CNN

Campbell Brown is definitely leaving NBC News for a prominent position at CNN, TVNewser has confirmed.

Brown's contract with NBC expires at the end of this month. News of her new job is reverberating throughout newsrooms today.

Drudge says the announcement is "imminent as final deal points are being completed."

Among those points, an unimpeachable source tells TVNewser: Paula Zahn is losing her 8pm nightly broadcast.

A schedule shakeup looks likely. Lou Dobbs could be moving to 7 or 8pm...

A Lou Dobbs move to 8pm could spell bad news for Olbermann who will have to really fight to maintain second place.

1. I wonder about Olbermann vs. Dobbs
Seems to me they would have seperate, opposite audiences.

2. Yes, but his nightly average is bigger than Olbermann's
So if you figure hed bring his audience with him, he would average higher numbers than KO.

6. I don't know, I think the general audience is the same...
people who are pissed off at the government, though of course those who watch Dobbs are a *little* more reichwing than Olbermann.

9. What?
Zahn's been around for ages. She was a cub reporter here in Houston in the late 70s and early 80s. She's like 50ish.

So don't say she WAS young. She's still young.

10. A little joke. In response to the headline "Paula Zahn now is no more".

7. Her demeanor is smug...condescending... boring
How she managed to get and maintain her own TV show this long is baffling to me.

I think CNN should give Nancy Grace a show instead, because she has lots of personality. The compromise could be that Grace covers real news, or at least partially real news (although I find her shows devoted to Paris Hilton's special treatment to be quite hilarious).

8. Paula Zahn occasionally covers news without the slant (but can't control interrupters)
Campbell Brown just isn't very watchable. I don't think she can carry a show. I suspect her "star" status at CNN will be short lived.

11. As long as this doesn't lead to more time for Wolf Blitzer, I'm okay with it

12. Campbell Brown is married to neo-con Dan Senor
The spokesman for the "Coalitional Provisional Authority", the fake government that ran Iraq right after the invasion. She has no credibility.

I'm not a hugh Paula Ka-Zahn fan either, but she is not as bad as Campbell Brown.

13. I'll still be watching Countdown. What happens on CNN matters not to me.
If something major happens, I may turn it on just to get the jest of it. Then, back to the blogs.

14. Zahn was never much to begin with and KO isn't threatened by any CNN time shift.
He has something they don't, the truth. Oh, and he doesn't carry water for lying murderers either.
