what is it about power that some people will do anything for it
myself I don't like power because it carries so much weight.

4. Being "The Boss" is very alluring.
"There is no safety in the Cosmos" as Alan Watts said. But, there are those unfortunates who believe that they can control life if they can just organize it to their design and be "safe".

Unfortunately, getting and retaining power, requires sacrifices. Usually, the people with less or no power. Thus, we have politicians who are all too willing to send people off to kill other people so that power can be accumulated or defended.

8. most of my work history has me as foreman, leadman, always some leadership role
and I was never comfortable with that so I guess I never did feel the power of power
