Kirk Cameron is a Raving Christian Looney
"I was rich, I was young, I was famous, I could do anything I wanted with whomever I wanted." - Kirk Cameron
By KEVIN SITES, TUE MAY 29, 1:47 PM PDT

BELLFLOWER, California - At the height of his Hollywood success, former "Growing Pains" sitcom star Kirk Cameron started worrying about something his money couldn't buy: salvation.

He had more than just legions of fanatic fans. He also had stalkers and kidnapping threats, and was sometimes driven to the set in a bulletproof car. It got him thinking about his own mortality. He had it all, but still felt empty.

http://potw.news.yahoo.com/s/potw/41/left-behind

He used his faith to strong arm the producers of Growing Pains to cater to him...I use to have respect for him now he is a religious Zealot.

1. so really in the past he was a big time arrogant asswipe and instead of just
trying to be not a douche bag and decided to be born again. still seems like an arrogant dbag imo, maybe his conversion didn't take.

2. Who the fuck is Kirk Cameron?
I guess the little asswipe isn't as famous as he thinks he is....!!!

Sounds to me like the little turd is trying to find some residual fame amongst the easily-led who might vaguely remember him. Kinda like that ugly Baldwin brother tried to do....

Hey, when you have no talent, you do what you can, or must, I guess. Beats working, I imagine!!!

Sounds like this jerk has been "left behind" by the rest of the film and TV industry. And, awwww...he hasn't been missed.

32. A "kind, compassionate Kris-chun" who was cruel to former castmate Tracey Gold as she suffered

During the last years of the Growing Pains series, Tracey Gold was terribly sick with anorexia nervosa.

Kirk Cameron reportedly refused to have nothing to do with Gold, stating that her illness was a sign that "she had not been SAVED."

Gold beat the illness, continues to act, and married the love of her life in 1994. They have two little sons and are still married today.

Kirk Cameron was the only member of the Growing Pains cast that did not attend Gold's wedding, citing "security issues."

5. Yes, yes! The banana proves the existence of God...
...because it, um, fits in your hand...and, uh...when you hold it it points at your mouth.

My wife and I still can't see bananas without going into a laughing fit.

By the way, Kurt...you know who else eats bananas? Monkeys, apes and chimpanzees.

Oh my God, do you know what this means??

THE BANANA PROVES EVOLUTION!

Or were they meant to be inserted into the nostril?

Were there bananas in the Garden of Eve?

Why did God make pears so juicy that your whole mouth gets sloppy wet? Why pear shape and not round like an apple?

7. He lives in Bellflower and he thinks he's found the promised land?
He should have taken an earlier turn-off.

He's your basic, garden-variety right-wing nerd. No valid social skills, cloaking himself in
pre-made fundamentalism and pseudo-anti-social rhetoric so he can feel better than all the people
who disliked him for all the reasons he wasn't capable of understanding. It's his little Big
Brother fortress against the world. See also Newt Gingrich, Karl Rove, etc, etc.

I'm not okay with that. Probably neither are the hundreds of thousands who are dead. When a person's belief system translates to mass death, such as approval of the war in Iraq, I can't excuse that person.

i can acknowledge, be angry with,.... what their action create. but your post is sounding too much like what i hear from the very people that you criticize. and this type of attitude in deciding who each of us MUST be, per our own perspective is the illness that is contaminating our nation today. not the individual beliefs of each other, or our uniquenesses.

A lot was written about how much of a pain in the ass he became as Growing Pains neared its end. He objected to a lot of storylines and often said he would refuse to continue with the series if the producers didn't kowtow to him.

If you don't like it don't go see it. If you don't want your kids to see it then don't take them. It's a freakin movie. You know "free speech" and all that guff? Look, the guy isn't bashing anyone, he's not shoving his views down anyone's throat. He's not holding people hostage. Leave the dude alone to enjoy his fantasies in peace.

He shoved his views down the throats of everyone on that show.

And if you think these people don't harm anyone, look what their views have wrought...Bush and his cabal. They couldn't have gotten all the support they've had thusfar without lunatics like this supporting them.

How many dead are there in Iraq this week, soldiers and civilians? Not harming anyone my ass.

54. WHAT?
The article says he requested a change on Growing pains and was told they were keeping it in and he dropped it. How's a simple request "shoving".

And show me where the guy supported Bush OR the Iraq war. You are making an assumption. You have absolutely no information whatsoever that the guy even votes, let alone who he supported and why. I got no problem with bashing people who make life miserable for the rest of the world. But this guy isn't hurting anyone that we know of.

57. Some of us have actually seen or read more...
about Cameron's history on the show than just the article above. Ever watch E! ? They had an Inside Story show on Growing Pains. Cameron was a bona-fide asshole to many of his co-workers when he experienced his miraculous conversion.

As far as his voting, no we don't know IF he votes. BUT, read these articles it's obvious that he values dogma over science:

http://www.evidencebible.com/witnessingtool/questionsforevolutionists.shtml (way of the Master is Kirk's own site, btw)

http://www.evidencebible.com/witnessingtool/missinglinkstillmissing.shtml

http://www.evidencebible.com/ (The Evidence Bible-- recommended by Franklin Graham! You remember him-- doing everything in his power to "save" Teri Schiavo from we Godless heathens?)

Seriously-- your peacemaking sentiment is admirable, it's just misplaced. Cameron is a proseletyzing shitbag.

55. An important part of free speech...
...is using your own free speech to criticize the things you don't approve of, including the things other people are saying when they exercise their free speech. As long as you aren't trying to put legal roadblocks up to prevent someone else from saying what they want, and you aren't using threats of violence outside of the law to intimidate others into silence, you aren't violating the letter or the spirit of free speech for everyone.

Kirk Cameron's message is stupid enough and harmful enough, and so is the message of the Left Behind books and movies, that I think it calls for vocal opposition, not merely ignoring the message.
