Is Cheney Being Tossed Under The Bus?
One wonders how deep the Bush family influence goes. After reading today's Washington Post Article ( http://blog.washingtonpost.com/cheney/chapters/chapter_1/ ) on Cheney I got the uneasy feeling that maybe this is just the Nth chapter of bullshit. Maybe we're being duped and Cheney is being tossed under the bus.

Reading the article come comes away with no particular thought to Bush at all. He's just the guy in the background; yes, he's the chief Decider, but none of the nasty details are his fault and besides that, if normal protocol had been followed who knows, maybe he would have done better.

In a pig's ass.

We've been like to and manipulated in so many ways that even the good news - which the uncovering of bad news is these days - is suspect and I hold nothing, even the sacrifice of Cheney, out of the reach of Bush family corruption. I just don't trust anything I see anymore.

1. Wishful thinking as far as I can see
For the moment, it looks to me like Cheney is still driving the bus,
and you can bet he'll jump out at the last moment while it takes the
rest of the country off a cliff with it.

... for failure to establish the political and economic collapse of the United States of America and the constitution by now.

6. ONLY if there is someone even more despicable
And then ONLY some kind of "preemptive pardon" with a cushy Carlyle post arranged. He can take off to Dubai with his Halliburton buddies and perhaps out of reach.

The only possible bus "incident" happening is IF Scooter is singing.

I even doubt that - I think all these recent findings are due to the fact that Dems have been powerless in bringing them up. They (WaxmanConyers etal ) have been squirreling away these acorns of truth to drive the agenda as best they can.

11. Hah!
Gman, ya' beat me to it!
Cheney IS the bus and the rest of the criminals are riding his back. If the bus gets wiped out, the rest of the immediate white house crooks will jump off and disappear.

If, and that's a big "if," the dems pursue a law and order approach to the mess that has been made, there will be trials, investigations and prison sentences going on for the next five or ten years.

9. Nope--not being tossed under the bus
Cheney is the most despicable, most evil and most corrupt individual ever to stain politics and the world. Next to him, Bush pales in comparison.

Cheney is not only the main conspirator, but the power behind the power. And yet, he seems positively glib at times, because he has absolutely NO CONSCIENCE whatsoever.

Lest we all forget: the names of those in the Energy meeting with Cheney during the 1st term is still being withheld. There is little doubt that Cheney believes himself above ALL law, and it won't be until he is out of office that he can be taken down. That is, of course, even after a possible impeachment attempt. There are far too many people who will not summon enough courage to do the right thing.

20. One can only hope.
Maybe this is a sign of weakness that they've picked up on. I believe politics is just like warfare.

When the sharks smell blood in the water, it's time to move in.

And I have to admit, there's been A LOT of stuff on Cheney lately. Let's wait and see if there is blood in the water....

Darth has been getting some pretty bad press right now, more is leaking out everyday. Compared to the bfee deadeye is a piker and an acceptable loss to protect one of their own, whatever the rumor of a rift in the family the chimp is still a bush and blood is thicker than oil, I think the next couple of weeks are going to be very interesting.

27. Oh puuuuuulllllleeeeeze
They supposedly drop kicked Rummy but the man still has an office in the Pentagon.

There's no bus, there's no driver. There's just the BFEE doing any damn thing they please - as they have done since before Nixon. They rearrange the people on camera every now and again but the same people are still running things and will likely continue to do so long after the BFEE leaves office.

The only people that end up under a bus are anyone who thinks they can stop it. We can elect whoever we please. If we elect D's it's POSSIBLE America MIGHT get a couple bones tossed it's way - the flow of wealth and power to the few will slow just ever so slightly. If we elect R's then it can just happen slightly faster. The real power sits in the shadows, not in the halls of Congress or at 1600 Penn. Ave.

You nailed it. It is bull, and for good reason. It is exciting fodder to detract from impeachable offenses, including Cheney's. And DUers are falling for it in droves.
