6. I believe it depends on the circumstances. Let's say you're from

Georgia, and the majority of the population (except Atlanta)is "pro-life". I would rather have a pro-life Dem in Congress than any Pub, so I would vote for the Dem. As much as I hate it when Dems vote against MY personal preferrences, they ARE elected by the majority in their district to do as the majority wants.

Would you rather Casey lost in PA and we still had Santorum in the Senate? Work for pro-choice candidates in the primaries, but once it gets to generals a non-vote for a pro-life dem is often as good as a vote for a pro-life asshole like Santorum.

If you can't see the difference then you need to get off the one issue and realize that there's a bigger picture.

I don't know if they planted the Pub candidate (who was a real idiot) or not, but the Pubs in power quickly saw there was no way he was going to win ANYTHING, so they courted old Joe! It was the Pubs who really elected that idiot, and some of the Dems who had actually received help from Joe over the years. I'd love to hear from THOSE voters now. I wonder if they still like him?

I don't live in Ct. and I'm just repeating what I heard, but I really did hear that Joe saved the Submarine Company in Grotton, and several other companies whose names I don't recall. Surely he's done SOME good things over that length of time! I can see why a voter would still vote for him, purely out of gratitude, and THINK he would still remain a Dem. After all, he did promise to do that, didn't he?

... BOTH sides voted for him. As to the rest, I could give a rat's ass about their "justifications". Maybe the folks in Louisiana who AREN'T getting a Katrina investigation feel differently. But I doubt it.
