Actor sentenced to 16 months in state prison

Troubled actor Tom Sizemore was sentenced Monday to 16 months in state prison by a judge who ruled the alleged discovery of methamphetamine in the actor's car while in Bakersfield had violated his probation in a previous drug case.

Sizemore "has been in every program, and here he is again," Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Cynthia Rayvis said.

He "abused the privilege of probation" and "needs to be in a lockdown setting," the judge said.

Rayvis ordered the sentence after authorities arrested the 45-year-old actor in Bakersfield on May 8. Deputy District Attorney Sean Carney had called for prison time.

Sizemore's lawyer, Fay Arfa, had argued that prison time would not help her client overcome his problem.

Wasn't his first brush with the law for beating the crap out of Heidi Fleiss?

Such a shame to see an actor go down into a spiral like this. I really liked him in Blackhawk Down and Saving Private Ryan.

7. Prison is not a place to put someone

that you wish to keep away from drugs
