Are the crippled G.I.'s being hidden or are we too sensitive to look at them?

There are over 25,000 soldiers who have been crippled, burnt, made impotent, blinded, and generally deformed by the war in Iraq, where are they? Do you ever see them?

Are they being hidden from us by the very government and media who crippled them?

Or is their invisibility because of our own shame and horror when looking at them?

3. I was at Sears recently here in Austin...

this poor kid couldn't have been more than 22 or 23. Missing both legs below the knee, missing on arm. the other one was messed up and had all sorts of scars on his lower face and neck.

He was walking with the help, I can only guess, of his wife or girlfriend.

We locked eyes, I smiled and nodded, he smiled and nodded back.
