2. Give them all the money, and a few million more just in case.
It's not like they'd actually QUESTION Mssrs Cheney and Bush.

3. Tell him Cheney is not in the Executive. He does not have Executive Privilege and he can report to
The Hague for his crimes against humanity.

5. I think Democrats are serious this time... I see a red line through that request....
Pull the money, make Cheney come before Congress and ask for funding since he claims he is not a part of the Executive Branch.

As soon as he admits he is a part of the Executive Branch, hold up disbursement of the money until he complies with numerous Congressional requests.

13. I hope you're right...
I didn't agree with the war defunding strategy, but I sure agree with this. They will anger me if they don't follow through here, there's really nothing to lose.

Will they have the spine to go through with this challenge to a Criminal VP?

10. This is like a litmus test for me...
I'm almost at the breaking point with my party; between impeachment being off the table, re-funding the war, supporting the worthless immigration bill, and supporting free trade crap like NAFTA and CAFTA, I'm almost there. If they pull the bucks from Cheyney, it will go a long way to re-gain my full support. If they don't... Here's hoping they have some cojones.

19. I'm with you on this
If Democrats ever want my vote again, they will act on this. This is the defining moment. Hold them accountable or forget about me ever supporting them. They won't support me or America then they get none back.

16. $4.75 million? Is that all?
I would have thought that DICK would have found a way to DICK the people out of more money than that.

Whether it passes or not, I am totally hoping that Emanuel isn't joking about introducing legislation that would defund Cheney's office. I just want him to say it on the house floor. For one, it will piss off DICK. Two, it's kind of like that old LBJ legend:

LBJ is preparing to debate another candidate for an election campaign. Lyndon tells his people that he wants to ask the other candidate "if it's true that he has sex with goats".

Johnson's advisors query him: "Why would you ask that? You know it isn't true!"

LBJ replies: "I know it isn't true. I just want to hear him deny it."

23. Putting that into perspective....If soemm mone has $100....
and he has to spend $4.50 on keeping a home, lights on, heat etc...that's not too much to ask.

I remeber he bitched, and the GOP congress gave him the money, to pay for the electricity at the Naval Observatory. Ever VP since electricity was put into the place, paid 1/2 out of funds appropriated to the Office of VP, and the Navy paid the other half. This cheap bastard thought that wasn't fair! He still wasn't paying a dime, but it put more money into the VP trough that he could use for anything he desired...it is a slush fund for the pig.

25. Or even better perspective is
Exxon makes NET PROFIT $100 million dollars every single day. Every single day...... Cheney's entire criminal operation only uses $4.5 million a year......And you know he doesn't pinch any pennies, it is way more than is really necessary but Exxon make a $100 million every single day and gas prices keep going up...You want perspective....

28. I know that the oil companies rake in hideaous amounts ...
of cash, jsut as I know this asshole administration says we are having a great economy....sure, if one can play the stock market.

Most people don't realize that every time they purchase a gallon of gas, or buy a quart of oil, they are helping to fund terrorism. Guns and explosives have to be bought, and oil revenue buys them. One more reason why alternatives should be found quickly...x(

22. Biden will probably be first out of the gate with a non-binding resolution to de-fund Cheney.

Or perhaps a "bi-partisan" late night meeting with Cheney after which our leadership pronounces a breakthrough with the VP's office, while a reading of the fine print reveals that not only will Cheney continue on as usual, but that Scooter Libby's conviction has been wiped from the record as part of the deal and he'll be returning to work at the WH with a full security clearance on the next Monday.

My prediction: this matter will go no further than the usual letters from Conyers and Waxman (not that I don't appreciate these two excellent men, I do!), already-issued fiery rhetoric from Rahm Emmanuel, terse, but polite statements from Reid and Pelosi, *maybe* one or two underlings who resign, and it will all be topped off with a triumphant RNC fundraiser held in Cheney's name where he will receive a standing ovation from an assembly of GOP cockroaches. (Oh, I forgot -- the usual Shrub praise of him as a fine and selfless public servant will also be thrown in there somewhere, too.)

Darth's Attorney states that the VP office is not within Exec. and a day later Busholini requests $4Mill 700K to support the VP Office. Yeah, we are in the freakin' Twilight Zone.
