9 Year Old Boy shot & killed in Ark by Man for Throwing Rocks at House

A man irritated by children throwing rocks at his house shot and killed a 9-year-old boy, police said Tuesday.

Officers were called shortly Monday afternoon and found Demotric Moore with a gunshot wound to the neck. The boy was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Officers saw Jonathan Watts, 50, inside his home, ordered him to the ground and arrested him.

"I've had it with these kids and the rock throwing," Watts said as he was being handcuffed, El Dorado police Capt. David Smith said.

Watts told officers that he'd thrown the gun away. Initial calls reported a man with a BB gun, Smith said.

The weapon was a shotgun, according to a police report.

Years ago we were lounging on Saturday afternoon when we heard a loud whomp against the side of our house. Then another & another. My husband stepped out to see what was going on & there were three young boys (10, maybe?) throwing very large rocks against the side of our house.

"Why are you boys throwing rocks against the side of my house?" my husband asked them.

"We're bored," was the answer.

"Well I'm bored, too," said my husband. He leaned over & picked up a giant rock in each hand & then said, "Now it's my turn. We're going to your house & I'm going to lob these rocks at the side of it, ok?"

They were horrified! "No mister, please, NO!" and "My parents will kill me!"

They got the point. My husband set the rocks down & shook the hand of each of the boys.

I hope that man is locked away for the rest of his life.
