Paul Newman on Current Stuff - he is my hero. Here's what he has
to say and it is good.

He is just so smart and so well spoken.

2. He is, isn't he? And he is such a thoughtful spokesman for basic
Democratic values.

He fells that this administration is the most dangerous in his lifetime.

I feel that way too. I just really want them out and fast. And I lived thru Nixon. These guys make Nixon look like childsplay.

So I'm really glad to see Paul Newman stepping up here. A lot of people take him very seriously.

3. If you get a chance,
Buy his organic, fair trade coffee. It costs a little more, but it is sooooooooooo good.

6. Paul Newman is a hero for starting the "Hole in the Wall" Camps!
This is an international group of camps that serve children with life threatening illnesses. As the parent of a camper (he is actually at one of the camps this week), I have seen first-hand the good works that Paul has accomplished (it is easy to see in the face of these children). If you want to learn more (or make a contribution - hint, hint), go to:

http://www.holeinthewallcamps.org/

Hooray for Paul!

7. Also, any DU parents with seriously ill children should see if your...
child is eligible to attend one of the camps. It will truly change their lives!

9. He was also a damn good race car driver

"At the age of 70, he became the oldest driver to be part of a winning team in a major sanctioned race, the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1995. Newman told an Associated Press journalist in March 2005 that he'll "probably race for another year"."

Amazing guy.

10. The last two paragraphs from the Politico writer
You know, to Dems one would think this sentence would be considered scare-mongering as well: “One seat is all that separates Republicans from retaking the United States Senate. That's why the 2008 elections are so pivotal.” Or this sentence has some scare-mongering tactics to it as well: " And I am proud now to stand with a new generation of Democrats against a president who poses what I believe to be the biggest internal threat to American democracy in my lifetime."

Meanwhile, some quick math shows us that you can donate $28,500 to a party per year and $4,600 per cycle to a candidate. Which means it's not so scary afterall — Newman just needs to add his wife and two others to cover the cost.

Tells me everything I need to know about politico

12. It's good to see he ruffled a few feathers, according to the responses.

Unlike the freeper types, Newman puts his money where his mouth is.

Hats off to Joanne too, BTW.
