CNN "debates": Is sexual orientation a choice?
I don't recall choosing to be attracted to women. My hormones did that for me.

I'm tired of the mainstream media.

8. Hey, the media have to report 'both sides' of the question:
they have to hear from both scientific knowledge and ideological fantasy.

;-)

2. Are they talking about if heterosexuality is a "choice" too?
Because that is a sexual orientation as well.

3. I know I made a choice
To ignore what the hell morons say about it being a choice.

I was born gay and that's that.

4. "A" choice?
Sexual orientation is far too complex to be trivialized as "a" choice, if choice ever enters into it at all. While I suspect that there's some malleability, I doubt that anyone has the necessary detachment to "choose." As members of a social species, we are the result of a billion choices, only some of which were our own, not to mention a nigh-infinite number of random events.

We have no business pretending that it's been figured out, and people looking to assign blame are trebly suspect.

5. That question is such a tired load of horseshit.
Here's the answer, CNN.

Sexual orientation is NOT a choice. And it is pure, grade-A bullshit to suggest that it it a choice.

Period, end of discussion.

Now, on to more important things, please.

10. The only "choice" involves being true to yourself

and your nature, or to suppress your feelings and become what society wants/expects you to become.

Devil's Advocate: But, MotorCityMan, it is in some people's nature's to be rapists/murderers/republicans. How is it any different?

MotorCityMan: Well, rapists/murderers/republicans are a danger to others. Identifying as a homosexual does not, in and of itself, harm anyone.

Gay History/Pride Month 2007, and "America's Most Trusted" :sarcasm: tv network is STILL debating this?!?!?!

I swear, if they ever stop pushing how "controversial" it is to be gay, and get to the point where it is no big deal (which I think will happen eventually, but probably not in my lifetime), all the right wing "religions" will have to disband, as the "gay threat" is one of their biggest fund raising scams.

6. So the answer to this
question will be debated and decided by people who have "no agenda" and/or no clue? Is this really something that should be up for debate? Oh yes, I forgot. Science has been debunked, the earth is 6,000 years old and men had dinosaurs for pets. It is a "moral" issue.

Sure, lets let the mobs decide shall we? :nuke:
